Vacation season is upon us!

Busy season in Europe start at Easter. Then it depends what little festivals are locally happening in each country.

@nakkers not hitting France? Also every woman want's to see the tower once...

I married a French Canadian who doesn’t want to see Paris! I know! Loves wine and bread and art but, she took it off the list!

Maybe it’s a reverse psychology thing, I don’t know! But, I mentioned it first and often and she looks at me like I’ve got two heads.

She said Ireland and other than Whiskey and sheep, I’m not sure? Weather isn’t great and I’m sure there are some lovely coastal places to visit but, heck if I’m spending money on a vacation, I’m thinking Italy or Spain.

I barely speak English so, we have to get by with that. She understands some slow speaking French but, doesn’t speak it herself.

Wow that is a first.

You won't have a problem getting around Europe, I also barely speak English, everyone can speak English over there. They are quite cultured :p, Especially in the tourist areas. But will admit England was a bit of a nice break on the language front.
BTW the hop on hop off city bus tours are great over there.

Fort Myers for the win -- off I go in a couple of weeks.

Return flight $244CAD from YYZ to RSW, budget $60/day for all the oversized American portions I can eat, and all the cocktails I can drink. I'll be filling my car's gas tank with $2.50/gallon gas. I'll bask under the Caribbean without worrying about food poisoning, malaria, or the *****. I'll sleep easy knowing I'm not likely to be mugged, robbed, or hustled. I'll see a couple of NHL games in Tampa Miami) -- bus+beer+ticket packages cost less than parking and a beer at the ACC. And I won't need to fumble with Google Translate.

When I get back it should be time to ride.

Secrets Papagayo Costa Rica March 14 to 24.
Really nice fairly quiet place with excellent food. The black card upgrade is definitely worth it (gets you into the private lounge/bar, more restaurant options, they'll put a 30yr old bottle of whatever in your preferred bar, etc). The beach isn't awesome but a short taxi ride gets you to some amazing places/towns/beaches.

Africa, flying out on Apr 18th to Johannesburg and do the safari and fly back on May 3rd from cape town This trip has been on my bucket list for a few yrs. I know 76 bucks return flights. Being an employee sometimes has it's benefits

I did Secrets Wild Orchid in Jamaica some years ago, probably the same chain? Great experience...minus the usual attempted upsell to a membership.

My wife and I were going to do an Alaska cruise this summer on one of our 2 weeks of together vacation this summer, and then spend another week with the camper doing the blue ridge parkway, etc. Now, both of those are squashed - not spending a dime in the USA.

We're not sure what we're doing with either of those 2 weeks at all anymore honestly, but it'll be something either here in Canada, or somewhere else in the world.

Well since then…3 kids, new house, cars, renos, motorcycles…

I think I have a problem…
Do all the family back in Poland realize you’re a rich Canadian big shot engineer? Italian motorcycles… fancy import cars… vacation property 45 minutes away from a swanky city property…

I’ll bet you’re expected to pickup a lot of tabs!

I’m the poorest one of the entire family….

I'm slightly jealous, you're all ballers in my book.
Wish you all wonderful experiences.
For us, buying property is now our vacation destination. Looking forward to spring.

Private Pilot - you could switch up to Great Slave Lake

There is a houseboat fixed rental on the lake right in the bay of Yellowknife....winter or summer
We almost went there for the Northern Lights but did Iceland instead,

Or do a Hurtigruten Cruise

We're planning Austria for MotoGP this summer with Hungary, Slovakia/Slovenia/Croatia thrown in for good measure. Honestly booking most of it yourself is half the fun, nothing wrong with travel agents for some or all of it either. I've found it easier sometimes for inter regional travel at the destination region (think buses/trains, domestic flights) to use agents if the web doesn't offer up easier/cheap solutions.
Follow the tourism accounts for the regions/countries on Instagram and pick up some travel guide books, Fromer's, Lonely planet, Rick Steves etc. Combine with Youtube/Trip Advisor/reddit/google for reviews of things that interest us (always take reviews with a grain of salt). That's how we've planned our last few treks.
I've found speaking only English is generally fine in the tourist areas, basic pleasantries & a data plan with google translate for everything else.
