Used bike buying help?

I'm happy to offer advice, but I do expect you to get off your duff and use Kijijij search to find the bikes yourself.

Unless you have other (questionable?) plans for insurance, I bet that will be the limiting factor for insurance. It's also why most people your age start on CBR125's and Ninja 250's and there's no shame in that. Personally, I started in my late 20's with a 600 sport-tourer, both of which helped with insurance (not that it was cheap!)

Anyways, good luck.

Have been on kijiji everyday but I keep hearing these stories of magical bikes that only some forum members have access too that are cheaper and better than anything I can find "apparently".

Insurance = not an issue, fire away.

You ask for people's help, they give it to you and then you slam em with cheap jokes.

Good luck.

Exactly. Funny how insurance isn't an issue but cost of bike is...I give up, there should be a section for teens asking for advise for their pipe dreams.

insurance is only a problem if you have it... just saying.

im a noob looking to start out and a 125 seems quite powerful to me. i know it can kill me pretty quickly.... do more cc's give you a more glorious death or something?

^This. I vote to end thread. Can't afford to buy this, can't afford to fix that, insurance isn't an issue, don't want a smaller cc bike cause they're not cool enough to show my 17 yr old friends...

Four pages of help and your just slamming others advice and help. Get a grip. Hope you find what your looking for...

Insurance isn't an issue i'm betting because he's planning on riding without it. Wouldn't be the first time.

Any policy number works... Just put down a valid number and carrier. They don't have any system to double check.

Don't you need to provide an insurance policy before MTO issues plates?
ya but this guy incorporates a 'shoot first ask questions later' method of thinking. As helpful members of the gtam community, we should find him the fastest bike that is in one piece that is under $3000. No questions asked.

My advice, given your financial situation, is to steal the bike you want. That way you don't even have to plate it. You're planning on riding it illegally anyways.

Agreed, this thread can be closed, I found the bike I wanted.

Insured, registered and ready for the road. Can't believe how immature some members of this forum can be but I can't expect much from the internet.

Thank you to everyone who did give great advice, safe riding!

congrats on the bike, no matter what one you got.

what did you get? how much you pay and more details about the bike

Just decided to get a newer bike since I'm not the most educated guy on bikes, choose to fork out a bit of extra cash to end any headaches I might get down the road.

2008 R1, $7500 plus tax, rather not get into heated arguments on the internet so i'll probably not reply to any flamers. The power is unexplainable.
