I managed to catch Burn Notice when I was riding the BRP a few years ago. The series wasn't aired in Canada yet but I managed to find the DVD box sets. Love the show.

Breaking Bad is a guilty pleasure; completely unlike any other show on TV, most people would think it moves too slow but it revels in the nitty gritty and thought process of the characters. It's a great show that could never be imitated.

Most/all of mainstream TV (ABC, NBC, CBS) is garbage IMO.

Breaking Bad is now done..... good ending. Not incredible, but good and satisfying.

I think the ending was too short. Nothing dramatic. For 5yrs I expected a big bang for the ending. Seems like the writers finished the ending in a couple hours

So many shows that know they are coming to an end and have crappy endings. Either to milk the brand for a movie option or to leave their fans guessing etc.

Breaking Bad's ending didn't blow my mind but, they did a good job.

Or they continue writing episodes long after everything creative has been done so that the series becomes stupid, then they half-heartedly write the finale... like Dexter.

Agreed. Great show that turned to crap as their priorities shifted from what made the show great to a marketing and money machine.........

That's the problem with North American TV; they don't know when to end it. There are rare exceptions to that, like "Babylon 5" that was always slated to run no more than 5 seasons, but by and large this is a big problem.

The Brits, Aussies, and New Zealanders get it. There's a point after which you're just going through the motions. I just watched the series finale of "The Almighty Johnsons", last week, and I'm sorry to see it go after just three seasons of damned good writing, but it's over. It was ended well and with no question that it was well and truly over.

Or the epitome of running a series WAY too long; Prison Break. Fantastic 1st season but really, just how many prisons in how many countries can one man break out of?

And yes, I know I just quoted myself.

uhh, no, by far the show that takes the cake was Lost....

what a ******** of garbage was piled on season after season just to kick the bucket down the road.....

BABYLON 5 probably one of the best shows ever on TV.

Have never seen... and I guess I never will. You're not the 1st to tell me that it sucked.

"Lost" is a bit of an exception, I think. It was also set to run its course in 5 years, was told that it was being cancelled and they scrambled to end it early, then got a reprieve. I think it was a case of a network screwing with a well planned timeline.

Then again I think that it was halfway through the first season that I called what was happening, so I didn't exactly put any effort into following it.

I'm really enjoying Strikeback. Great action series on the movie/HBO channels. Well worth streaming if you don't have the chanels. Banshee was pretty good too but I have to wait a while for the new series in 2014.

In general I find the HBO/AMC series not as constrained to Hollywood ideals than others so they are new and refreshing and occasionally shocking.

Also watching Doc Martin on Netflix then streaming as it's a bit of a take on the stranger in a new place idea. Gentle but sarcastic Brit comedy with Martin Cloones as a doctor with a severe personality disorder in a small cornish community.

I was listening or reading something Kurt Sutter mention about some shows are best enjoyed when you can watch the entire season, episode after episode where as some shows story lines are enjoyed by the viewers week to week. Something to do with seasons 2 and 3 of SOA, ratings didn't do very well week to week but, the feedback on DVD sales and word of mouth generated enough interest to keep it going.

I loved Deadwood and it's one show where I'm actually annoyed it wasn't give the chance close out properly. JMO of course.

Yeah, Netflix has caused me to prefer watching shows like this. Waiting a week for the next episode sucks.

Really enjoyed the ending for breaking bad. Most season finale suck including dexter, but breaking bad did it right.

+1 good ending. Felt a bit emotional as I feel like I've been watching that series for years and enjoyed every single season. Enjoyed the Gus period the best.
