Gave an alternate cheapskate version. I can pull the cables out of the boxes to test them, there are only a few dozen in my house, and they're all labelled at both ends. I don't have $400 for that.

Was considering a homemade clear hose connected to a juice jug with a bicycle tube valve as a level for doing ceilings, but the laser is probably more common now.

Your cheapskate version will do the trick if in a pinch.
Most guys will start with the $20 discount model vs the $400 fluke model .

Your laser reminded my to call my buddy if he still has mine that I loaned to him. Looked for my spare but that's the one I gave to my dad.
