To be masked or not to be masked

Reference? The way you stated it, it sounds more likely that you've stated your opinion as fact.

And the word of our largest medical expert around...

I am fully convinced this decision is a political decision, not a medical one.

EDIT: Found it...

From Reddit: "I'm confused. I thought Doug Ford was the only one dropping mandates, all so he could get reelected. Ontario is objectively lifting our restrictions relatively slowly compared to the rest of the country and yet people are complaining that we're going too fast."

We live in Ontario. I’m pretty sure people in other provinces have the same complaints about their provincial leaders.

It's the same everywhere. No matter the decision, there will be pushback.

I'm happy that we are removing restrictions personally, but I am surprised that even if there is pushback...the message is 'do it'. Instead of leaving it as 'we're not requiring it, every municipality / school board / medical group in the Province is free to set their own rules.'

Being confused is OK, that's where the media and Liberals want you to be.

It is true Ontario has a more cautious mask plan than the rest of the country.

What other spin options are available to DeLuca and Horwath?

b.t.w. the fine print on this chart from the CDC reads "# Not statistically significant".

Is it physically possible to supply all school kids with enough surgical masks, and train them to use them properly?

I want the restrictions gone too, but not because they are an imposition on my life, because I’m trusting those that make the decisions that they are making this one based on the facts and that it would mean we no longer have anything to fear as a society. I don’t believe that’s the case and worryingly quite a few experts would agree with me too.

?

That’s specifically referring to the cloth mask data point, if I’m reading it correctly.

Yes, but that is what most people who don't throw their masks away on the sidewalks, parking lots, streets, parks, beaches, ski hills, etc. wear.

Many school boards have had special meetings the past couple of days following this announcement and a lot of them voted in favor of continuing masking beyond March 21...Lecce has told boards that we are in no way to do so. .from what I understand, local health units can invoke a section 22 to implement them locally, so we'll see what happens in the coming days...

I had a discussion about this with my class today (grade 2 remember) and basically talked about how we need to be respectful of anyone who decides to continue to wear them once we return...we talked about how some people don't have a healthy system and that their "army" can't fight the "bad guys " as well as other people...we also talked about how some people may be nervous to take them off...many of them opened up and said they would probably wear them because either their parents said they will, or that they want to...it was an interesting discussion considering they are 7/8 years old...they asked me and I told them the truth, that I was hesitant and not sure yet...they said they'd respect me no matter what...so cute...☺

This is awesome.
My daughter will likely wear hers for a couple of weeks beyond the 21st and I’m worried that she’ll be ridiculed for it.

Kids can be such b@st@rds. I know they can be lovely too, but also the former.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely. I’d be taking kickbacks from tobacco producers to get smoking instated in schools for the under 5’s as a way of getting rid of COVID within a week of office.
I'll support you providing you appoint me minister of handing out govt contracts.
