To be masked or not to be masked

Alberta ( my kids live there ) lifted the mask requirement March 1st , people are happy but the numbers did go up.

Filled up @ $1.516 (reg) with my 7¢/L discount on 6N this afternoon. It's supposed to go back up again tomorrow.

They're protecting themselves. Anyone enforcing a mask wearing policy after the mandate is lifted could be exposing themselves to legal issues.
That's not true. Our business has the right to require any type of PPE for any reason we see fit.

If we say masks are mandatory, that's it -- they're mandatory. Legally it is a reasonable condition of employment just as much as the requirement to wear CSA approved shoes.

No mask, no entry. That goes for delivery drivers, employees and visitors.

Uh. No

HR says we’re maintaining Covid protocols for now. Fine with me.

Delivery drivers, visitors... sure. Employees.. not so simple.
Notice I said "could be"

Oil refineries can tell you to shave.

'could be'

you 'could' win the lottery

you 'could' become Prime Minister

you 'could' become CEO of Tesla

Now would be the perfect time to do a mask trial study in schools.

Companies are different... and do different things. Companies can be governed by different sets of rules... Not all have the same rules/laws applicable to them.
What is okay at Mad Mike's widget shop may not fly at the local wendy's franchise... or a call center.

If some companies aren't careful.. they 'could' end up paying severances due to constructive dismissals... and possibly more.

I'm sure Jeff did his DD when writing the policies at you're workplace.

I'm not sure what you're getting at by posting that.
Unbiased facts are helpful (And rare)

Ages ago a bunch of us complained to management about being treated unfairly and management posted a similar document. We were getting a bunch of stuff management didn't have to give us, Like OT after 40 hours etc.

Took the 5:15 am Go train, pretty much everyone masked up on the platform and on the train, I was expecting a few more unmasked TBH.

Barrie flea market yesterday, 50/50 participation lol.

@Jayv , I suspect that may be two very different samples of persons LOL
Showroom at work, full of maskless ppl.

Meh, I'm middle of the road thinking with this masking mandate, although it's kinda of pissing me off seeing customers at my work without one :)

Meh I always thought the masks were more of a psychological indicator then actually effective at stopping the virus. Unless you were using a N95 mask and a face shield. 🤷‍♂️

Either way it's a good to see things going back to normal, but I will still mask up where appropriate for the next little while.

Just made a quick trip to Home Hardware. 90% of the customers had a mask, probably only 20% of the staff had one though.

Also weird they took down all the plexiglass between you and the cashier. Seems like such a simple thing to leave up and provide some protection.
