Afaik, most of the money with a trail got blocked by gov't. The crypto and cash made it through. If she's not an idiot, it should never be found.
I'm surprised they didn't turn on her when they finally realized they weren't getting any of that cash they were promised to help defray their costs. Then again, a good number of them didn't come off as being the sharpest spoons in the drawer.
As always, grifters gonna grift. They got exactly what they deserved.
The crypto will essentially be worthless. To make any use of it would mean converting it. And that's assuming that the value hasn't already tanked on it.
If the cash touches a bank, at any point, then it will be recorded as income. If it gets deposited in a bank in sums over a certain limit, then reporting is automatic (anti money laundering regulations).
Go on a reasonably priced vacation somewhere. Don't post pictures of your helicopter tour. While you're there, convert some crypto to cash (ideally hand off a cold wallet in exchange for a briefcase so there is no record on the blockchain of a transaction). Free booze for life, etc, etc. If you are an idiot, you will get caught. If you are smart about it, there is little risk (as long as you don't piss them off enough that they fund someone to follow you).
They said they'd only stay until the mandates were lifted. When the mandates were lifted the truckers were gone. They kept their word.
'They' kept their word, while being duplicitous about the mandates. 'Their' word was worthless. 'They' weren't some monolithic single group. There were a number of groups that hijacked the convoy for their own ends. In the end I would actually say that very little of what people call the convoy was even the convoy anymore.
I have a dash cam video I look at every once in a while, wondering if I could have done something to prevent the crash.
The car in front of me gets a green but doesn't check for cross traffic. Being M/C paranoid I see a car coming from the left at a high rate of speed and I hold back. CRASH and the nose of the car in front of me is wiped off.
Seeing the threat, I could have blown my horn but would the car in front of me stopped or would she have accelerated a bit more? Stopping would have been good but if she was eight feet further into the intersection she would have been T-boned at the drivers door by a car going, in my estimation, 80-90 KPH. A possibly lethal crash, older car, no side air bags. Fortunately no one was injured.
The whole thing unfolded in ten seconds with numerous variables and possible outcomes. Reaction time is a problem and there were several scenarios to choose from. In extreme hind sight I should have installed some sort of grab bars on the front of my car and deployed them.
The end result is two people got new cars and lived on. One got some sort of ticket and an insurance hit.
Decisions are like that. Covid took a few months to crash across the world and the problem was more with attitude and politics than with science. Hand sanitizer was liquid gold in 2020. Now they practically give it away.
Even arm chair quarterbacking sucks.
When in doubt, think higher not lower. Unfortunately we are media controlled and they make money on controversy not resolution.
Don't listen to the news. Learn to interpret it. In the NYC case a 400% increase meant going from 10 cases to 40 in a population of a half million. Exponentially it could be a problem but slamming on your brakes every time you saw a potential risk would cause a lot of rear enders.
