Tmp thurs may 2

Like I said before those sv's are a blast to ride at tmp, light, loads of torque, and the straight is short enough the bike isn't underpowered at all.
And never mind the sound of them! They sound sweet.

72HP on the Pro6 dyno. It's legal :) I've lost 15lbs since last season though, so that can't be a bad thing!

The two consecutive straights are frustrating though. Catch up to everyone through the infield and then get gapped twice in a row. My braking into turn 2 is somewhat ridiculous, love it!

my goal for tomorrow is later braking, I was breaking at marker 3 of 5 at NJMP and still think I had a bit more.
I still get that OHHHHHHH SHIIIIITTTTTTTTTTT im breaking too late feeling, so tomorrow expect a run off or two :)

What group are you in?

Same here.
Going down the front strasight, I brake way to early but only because I'm trying to blip the throttle and brake at the same time and my little hands can't reach the brake lever, pull it in and blip the throttle to down shift at the same time. I have had mixed reviews on having to blip while downshifting, what do you guys think? I feel like I'm going to bust a gear not blipping :(. What I normally do (I know is totally wrong) is brake hard, then let off the brake and blip and downshift. But by doing that I'm losing so much ground and I have run off a couple times due to this in turn 1

Last year my father was my official lap timer and I was doing 1:18s and I think if I could correct turn one I could cut that time by another second :(

If I can do 1:18's on my SV I'll be very pleased!

Blipping is good, but I don't always do it, mainly because I sometimes screw it up. When that happens I just feather out the clutch. Usually it's fully engaged before turn-in but sometimes I use the engine braking to sort of trail brake, along with the front brake. Can you adjust your lever closer to make it easier?

Never understood the mystery behind throttle blipping. Although the first vehicle I drove (legally) was a non syncromeshed manual shift Bedford RL army truck. So I've been blipping throttles since I was 17. We even had to blip the throttle on upshifts.

I can adjust the lever but, it's to loose and feels like I'm not getting the full brake if it's that close (if you know what I mean) asv levers work great but for as close as I need it its very uncomfortable. And to think, I also lose time in turn 2,being just as fast as turn 1.i worked on blipping and braking last season but never got it :( I will attempt again at lower speeds and see maybe I will miracley get it lol

Yeah I know what you mean. The bend of some aftermarket levers makes it get too tight to the bar and if you're two finger braking it hits your knuckles of the two fingers still on the bar?

You could cheat and get a slipper clutch. Seems to be all the rage among the track day heroes LOL... j/k Blipping is a good skill to learn.

I have a slipper (stock) and still blip. To me the bike feels too unsettled when I don't blip.

The slipper comes in handy for when I forget I'm GP shift.

Definitely agree. When I have to feather out the clutch it's a whole different line to make it work.

I'll just run 1/4 tank of gas instead of a half tank, and we should be all even. A lot easier than that whole weight loss thing. If you see a CBR out of gas in turn 2, at least wave and say hi.
