Tmp thurs may 2

why lol its not very good hahahah

best time was a 1:20 and suck at braking hahahahah

1:20 is good enough for me, my goal for the end of this season. Also, the camera to the helmet (as opposed to attached to the bike) makes the video more dynamic and somewhat more intense :)

I noticed you're shifting at redline. Gsxr 600 make max Hp about 14500 which drops to 11500 when shifted which gives the most drive. Easily knock off a second. Or 3 at bogie:)

I just pulled my dyno sheets and peak HP was actually around 13,200 rpm. Peak torque is at just over 11,000 rpm.

Either way, you make a valid point about shifting earlier than redline. Something for me to play around with.

Heres my 4th session of the day...already gasped and tired hahahah
Red group, some one created a caution running off in the left hairpin

Nice! To be honest, the helmet cam footage makes me a bit seasick...but it is interesting.

Curious abut your line into 9 (long slow right hander). You seem to have a "standard" line where you are way out by the cone when you turn in, whereas a lot of the footage from fast trackday guys and racers shows them more towards the middle of the track when entering that corner. Trying to get my head around that. Is the tighter line just about protecting against a pass, or is it actually the faster way around that corner?

I actually sucks at turn 9, I'm always looking for a good drive out of the corner and never seem to get it, because I LOVE turn 10 lol I don't race, so my line through there isn't about protection. I always try to stick with the "out, in, out" theory and know it doesn't always work but it is what I feel most comfortable with I guess. I believe braking deep into the middle of the corner still gets me spooked about loosing the front end and low siding so I stick to outside braking.

As for the helmet cam, I liked it but I understand the feeling is of watching the it. I had it mostly on my tail but damn, WAY WAY to shakey. Tail is to gittery and the gopro has no stabilizer so it's unwatchable. I only did 2 sessions with the helmet cam and the first one was in the second session of the day, when I was still getting warmed up.

Thus weekend I will be putting it up front by the dash and see how it works. I will also try a new line or 2 for turn 9 and work on braking later into 1 and 2

Here's a couple of videos I posted up on YouTube from Thursdaystrack day.
