TMP June 22/23 thread

Most definitely try to do the intro. If u can't wait til August try to go with a very experienced track rider, not someone in the green group like me. I still go lots to learn.

The little body position exercise with the stationary bike was the biggest help for me to knee drag. My instructor told me my lean was good and I just had to fully extend my legs. You really got to emphasize the leg out and to (excuse my language) keep your a**hole off the seat. Voila one lap later, touch down.

Mind you out of 6 people, only me and some other guy were knee dragging. But we all had fun.
Definitely do the intro. There were people out in green that could have used the intro course.

Mine too. She's my pit manager, stands, warmers; tools, tires, fuel.
That's what JAyV is for and he cooks as well, who needs a wife?

Wow guess I'm lucky, my wife insits on going and has been to every race/track day since I was 17.

I'm even luckier. Mine won't set foot near a track.

spooning. shudders at mental image

The flag for advanced was green but the stickers are red. White flag is beginner but stickers are green. I agree it's a very stupid system lol
I believe everyone knows which group they belong to and should behave accordingly no matter the color of the flags and stickers.

...this is your uptight comment of the day ;)

The good ones are out there. Mines finally figured out that I don't want to talk to her or be asked any questions before I go out, I just say "warmers, stand" and ride away, anything after second call can wait till I'm back.

I was going to say, I was in the "green" flag advanced group lol and the stickers were pink lol I was confused at the bikes in the video someone else posted with "green group" lol actually meaning "white" beginner group lol

My bad

I will do the intro in Aug but I just can't wait that long to get to the track. So if anyone would like to go with me late July please message me

I wasn't debating on how people should act in their group. I was meaning the organizers should probably use the green flag for the green group to lessen confusion, because there was some.

first track day in the states , 8 years ago. drained my oil, put the oil filter and bolt on by hand, went to the riders meeting, you know where this is going lol
didnt listen to the flags , blah blah , went out they were pointing these meatball flags at me and i didnt know why, I was that guy who spilled oil all over 4 turns of the track first session out. worst day of my life.
now I check and re check my bike the night before any track day and safety wire everything :)

Point of info here; If they were to use a red flag for red group (advanced) and put it up, ppl would think the track is closed as that's what the red flag is used for. Yellow has the same issue. Both yellow and red flags have a very specific meaning out on the track. Hence they use other color flags to indicate which group is out there. As far as stickers, I can't comment. I didn't even look at what sticker they put on my bike. I just rode in my group.

I agree, don't put the red or yellow flag up but at least match the stickers to the flag. One guy was trying to go out in advanced but only had a intermediate sticker. Anyways doesn't matter. Just making an observation.

Btw everyone I sold my street bike today. She was too pretty and mint to track. I need something that I won't cry when it's dropped. Looking for a track bike for $3000. Must be running(obvi) and FI. I got a replacement street bike in mind already.
