Time for a Federal Election

Might look good for otool but not for the party, I think poilievre is a strong point for the cons
I agree. PP has done the marketing grunt work to raise awareness on key economic issues. Along with that comes notoriety and personal awareness among electors. Sadly OToole has failed to make headway on this, as a party leader he's still a relative unknown.

I suspect PP has too much spotlight, which in politics means too much influence and power. O'Toole knows it's difficult to operate in someone's shadow.

I think there is more too it. Sending him backwards to reduce a near future leadership threat? Bigoted stuff in his past? Not doing what he was told to do? Don't know???? The move seems odd to me.
My opinion is that the young gun is getting more popular, and the boss isn't too thrilled about it. Put him in the background and let him quiet down so he doesn't take the spotlight.

Honestly, if they decide to just do UI and offer 1-2k/month to everyone I’m cool with it.

everyone gets an extra 24k/year and at tax time you tax the TOTAL earnings as they are, then I find that fair.

if there is a cut off (let’s say 50k then he can go **** himself). Universal Income should be for everyone.
I understand the concept. I don't like it for many reasons. Number 1, many people will just hang out on the couch for 24K. I am not ok with that. If you can work, you should work. Number 2, many many people will work off the books and make out like bandits with a 24K raise. This is easier for some jobs than others and creates have and have nots with policy which I hate. I have things structured so I can defer/move around income if I want. I could use that stupidity to buy a cottage with before tax dollars while living off JT's handout (and probably a top up to ~40K). Not cool.

I’m wondering if PP will go quietly, or will there be in party ********

PP is not going anywhere he just wants his pension and will sit and wait until he is ready to retire soon.

And then get a sweet ass private industry job with a sweet salary and make out like a bandit, only to come back when he's older to shoot for PM...if he's that ambitious.

He has high enough of a public profile, speaks both languages fluently and has a communications background. His earning potential in the private sector would be far greater than whet he gets as MP/Minister.

Perhaps he is eying both, but I doubt it -- he's been in public service for a while.

Has he had enough years for full pension yet? Once you get there, why not go private sector and collect pension and salary?
