Thoughts on 125CC?

You sound angry.
If I ride a 125 cc bike and I want to try a 250 cc bike to COMPARE
If I ride a 125cc bike and I want to try a 600cc bike to COMPARE

Who the hell is talking about bullying?
Please stop being so offensive.
Oh no! Did I touch a nerve? :) Not angry at all, actually. The '!'s in my post were for emphasis, only. Please stop being so defensive ;)

pfft !!!!!
I am not certain what it is that you think I am/was defending.

Let us know when you mount a big bike and ride it hard.
Let us know how deep and hard you take it into the corners.

Sounds a lot like what your sister and I did. DIVED on that friend grenade.

OP. My apologies. It would appear your thread has been hijacked(?) As I said, the 125 is an awesome motorcycle. Enjoy it. And do yourself, and your loved ones a favour, be very, very careful who you choose to ride with...

yes, always wear protection when you ride

You could've fixed it for much less D: How fast did he hit it? :|

For sure I could've fixed it cheaper doing the work myself but why would I? The guy admitted fault and I wasn't going to cheap out on a repair during my first season on my first bike!

he just tipped it over in a parking lot as he was backing up. Didn't see it and THUNK was the last thing he heard before he stopped.

I have owned a 125. They are amazing motorcycles! Quite frankly, I get tired of small-minded, arrogant people bashing them. Ride, and enjoy your 125 for as long as you want to. I sold my 125 and bought a 250 ZZR. Why? Because I felt it was time, and that I was ready for a larger cc motorcycle. I'm not out to prove anything to anyone and I ride my ride :)

^ Agree.

I held back on buying a bigger bike because of financial reasons and cause the cbr125 did the job (for 2 years) :p I upgraded to the ninja 300 because I like going on long rides out of town and it just didn't feel too safe on the cbr125 when people are flying by you at 130km/h+. If it weren't for the fact I do a lot of highway riding, I probably wouldn't have upgraded for another couple years.

Another thing is that when you get out of the GTA and meet other random riders, no one really gives a F what you ride. If anything, they're more surprised that a CBR125 is out so far out out of the city. lol

Its just the way many people around Toronto and on GTAM think of the cbr125 because its pretty much the smallest bike in the "full powered motorcycle" category. I'm sure people thought of the ninja 250s the same way having a SS before the cbr125s came in (and there are some that still feel that the ninja 250s are "too small").

The only real restriction I would put on the cbr125 is taking it to the US highways. That just can't be safe.

It's not all about cc for me. I'd rather ride a cbr125 than a 1800cc cruiser for example.

But I do feel a bit safer with more cc and good cornering clearance. I find large dual sports give me the best agility and visibility for the road and are very crash worthy :)

Hope nobody takes offense to this but its one of the few funny bits they ever did.

The 125 is a great bike to learn on, take what others say on this forum lightly.

There is a lot of arrogance on this forum... I think you did good.

hahah yeah my boyfriend has a 800cc suzuki and a cbr600 but he tells me how much he loves my cbr125 because it's so small and fun !

cathiie, most of these people are going to stop helping you cause you said you have a bf btw.

I'm sure most people aren't here to look for girls, they're here to give and receive help from fellow riders.

PLau is right lol we've been here long enough to know the "OMG GIRL HUMP TIME...o wait she has bf" trend.

On a serious note, it's not the bike, it's the rider. I took my friend's 250 to prove a point earlier in the year and rode a 600's *** the whole way (passing on public hwy ramps is not safe). I hope you develop into a capable female rider because we need more of those =)

Ride what you want. When you feel like you're ready and possibly bored with the bike, then move up a bit.

You're really not getting any benefit to listening to veteran riders who you don't know tell you what your skill level or personality is ready for.

Only you know the answer to if you should get something bigger.
