Thoughts on 125CC?

plastic is light weight, metal is heavy and overrated. Hyosung are the Kia of motorcycles I take it?

I've lost count of how many blown-up Hyosung 250 engines that have been reported on this forum alone. They seem to have some pretty major valvetrain issues. Resale value is very low, which means they are pretty much throwaway bikes, not worth repairing when (not if) they blow up.

there's some crazy people out there!

Also on that same note, I seen Honda 125cc's with 4 ppl on it LOL. It would be like a driver, and his family on the back of it, looks crazy but those 125cc still manages to take them from point A to B without any problems LOL

Lot of people will polk fun at a small CC bike on this forum as people tend to like their super sports or other big cc machines. The truth is that you can do allot more with allot less with modern engines. 125 is great for inner city riding and good some shorter stretches of back roads. Great place to start before you move up (depending on how you want to ride it you might bet board quickly i did on a 250). I would advice a 250 over a 125 for a starter bike personally as i feel it makes a better bike if you want to head out of the city for long stretches and you still get the more forgiving power band.

As long as it fits your needs its a great bike. Simple to work on as well great place to get some basic mechanical skills.

Yeah the parts are extremely cheap compared to bigger bikes, that's another reason I opted for the 125 :) ! I like how much cheaper this bike is because it wouldn't hurt my wallet too much in the event that it ever gets damaged from mishandling (since I am a still a noobie).

If you like it, it's the right bike for you. When you don't like it anymore, then you should get one that you like, regardless of the size. Don't worry, be happy. You are a rider!

My 08 CBR125R got knocked over at work and cost about $900 to fix (fairing / mirror / muffler cover / fuel pump / brake lever / bird cage / turn signal \ sticking throttle - I had cruise control on the way home!) but that was at the dealer because the guy that knocked over my bike was a co-worker and he paid for all repairs. So the cost to fix the bike can quickly outrun the actual COST of the bike! Of course if you fix it yourself...much much simpler.

How do you break a fuel pump on a bike by knocking it over?

You could've fixed it for much less D: How fast did he hit it? :|

Depends how many fairing parts he had to replace. I find fairing prices absurd -_-

Yes you're right it can quickly outrun the cost of the bike. Although the price has a possibility of being really high I'd prefer that price over the same damages caused by dropping something like a cbr600.. one reason why I didn't opt for a bigger bike, that type of damage would be unaffordable, for me at least :p

sounds like they should sell their fairings and get stunt cages :p

125 CC bikes are fun!
Kinda makes me one now...:c

You sell your 250 yet?

I have owned a 125. They are amazing motorcycles! Quite frankly, I get tired of small-minded, arrogant people bashing them. Ride, and enjoy your 125 for as long as you want to. I sold my 125 and bought a 250 ZZR. Why? Because I felt it was time, and that I was ready for a larger cc motorcycle. I'm not out to prove anything to anyone and I ride my ride :)

go ride a gsxr600 or 750
then come back and let us know how it felt
To prove what exactly? Oh! So she can end up as a fallen riders topic??? And have you post your "RIP" so you feel better? OP, ride what you feel comfortable riding! If you want to ride a motorcycle, you are riding one! Ride safe and don't be bullied!

You sound angry.
If I ride a 125 cc bike and I want to try a 250 cc bike to COMPARE
If I ride a 125cc bike and I want to try a 600cc bike to COMPARE

Who the hell is talking about bullying?
Please stop being so offensive.
