And yet the courts are full of people who have done similar or worse.
Pretty sure, from what I've read, nobody has touched his car yet. All they've done is put up lol posters of the ****** around his neighborhood.
RFD recon hasn't done much except confirm where he lives and his new plate. And I think somebody found his car at his workplace.
Here are some examples of criminal harassment:
- calling you over and over again, and perhaps hanging up whenever you answer the phone
- contacting you on the Internet or through constant e-mail messages
- following you, your family or friends
- leaving threatening voice messages
- sending you gifts you do not want
- watching you or tracking where you go
- threatening you, your children, family, pets or friends
lol I'm pretty sure they've done the Pizza prank on him. I like how insurance fraud or what we posted on youtube is not a "criminal" act though. Oh well, all hail 4chan.

The threats don't have to be directly to the person, for the person to feel threatened. People are certainly tracking his movements, or at least attempting to do so. He feels threatened. His family feels threatened. Read the whole page, then go back and look at the applicable sections, of The Criminal Code.

Sadly yes, and there wasn't anything interesting on it. Just some Canadian website about "stalking" and warning others about what stalking is.
Even if he were to call police, wtf is he gonna say? "herp derp, 4chan is stalking me! RFD wants me dead, everyone hates me!"
Also, I'm pretty sure you can't magically pretend the acts of an entire website with people from around the world are the actions of ONE MAN. Remember, 4chan and anonymous never lose, and the further advanced we get technologically, the stronger they're going to grow.
Employers, especially in the IT world, can choose not to hire you based on your online profile. Managing your online profile has become an art of some sorts because you may **** up your job oppurtunties due to what you or others post online. In other words.....no, I don't think it's illegal or ppl could sue for not getting jobs.

i think the threats have to be direct such as this example. "i will burn your XXX."
as for tracking or watching, i do not believe anybody have seen him. tracking his movement will involve a tracker stuck onto his car or someone hacked into his phone.

These 4chan and RFD e-thugs and cyber-vigilantes are no better than the alleged scammer they're targeting. The only thing they're missing is a rope and a tree. When I read of the stuff going on on 4chan and what was happening on RFD, it helps sway me more to supporting things like Bill C-30.

For example, SOPA was simply going to block DNS translation of addresses, meaning if I wanted to go to thepiratebay all I had to do was know the ip address directly. In the days before you guys even started using the internet, something called IRC existed. We can always go back to that instead of 4chan.
And for the record, I wish there was a rope and tree. Examples need to be set so people don't do this kind of **** in the future.
You have not seen the posts, that indicate where he is and isn't staying? "Tracking" doesn't have to be a technical term. No one needs tracking devices and spy satellites, to qualify.
Read back through even this thread and note what people have said.

i like the dude he scammed a year ago for $300, who knows how that happened and whether the money was exchanged, but it just added fuel to the fire after he posted pics...they are asking for mr ragu to come clean and all will be forgiven...somehow, i see this as his only hope, except then he has the legal ramifications to deal with, oh well, too bad...someone found his car at his office, if someone slapped a gps tracker on that thing, his "friend" he is staying at has just sealed their own fate...

Think about it for a moment. If people on 4chan and RFD have these kind of skills, don't you think they work for legit firms? Like Law Enforcement, the government or even IBM?
These guys are doing the job the police will never do. There are sticking up for the honest people who wouldn't do anything to stop these real thugs.
This guy has probably done dozens of these scam and he'll keep doing it becasue he knows he'll get away with it. This kind of behaviour is pathological.

Simple. Go to the judge and get a warrant.
Ragu and people like him are parasites to civil society. Sometimes you need to fight fire with fire and I fully support 4chan's efforts. Hopefully it will also discourage other would be highway bandits from pulling the same crap.
as mentioned earlier, the police is too busy to take charge of such petty matters.
It is probably due to the actions of 4chan and other ppl that actually made the police/authorities to launch an investigation. If not it would've just be swept under a rug and mister Ragu would keep claiming victims

hmmm...are you sure you "fully" support their actions...as much as the guy is a tool, 4chan has gone after his family, work place, and they sure as hell will go after friends if given the chance...talk about going for an area of effect on this guy, they're using a sledgehammer to hang a picture...
GTAM has an irc?
I haven't used irc since 4chan and other similar types got popular. Plus torrents kinda killed the sharing services that irc used to host.
The more crazy this gets, the better chances of 4chan, and RFD's objective: to stop this kind of behaviour. Though I suppose this needs to happen more than once (the actions applied to scammers after scamming) for scams like this to truly stop.
