BurgerRRRR is in North York tomorrow. Say the word and we can meet somewhere along the 401 in Mississauga on the way.Would love to but I've got a LOT of work on the siding. But if you're out in the west end for any reason pop by.

Let me see how things go today and I'll let you know tomorrow. But 401...EB...BurgerRRRR is in North York tomorrow. Say the word and we can meet somewhere along the 401 in Mississauga on the way.
Go north, then east, then south. You might as well get in a decent ride.Let me see how things go today and I'll let you know tomorrow. But 401...EB...
Hoping to take the bike to cottage on Sunday...that'll be a good shakedown ride. Not too far, not too close, and a place to spend the night either way.Go north, then east, then south. You might as well get in a decent ride.
For all we know, he may already be running different gears. Wanting a different ratio also gets him closer to two sets of functional wheels. Normally you'd go shorter on the more off-road set but it may make sense to just drop down to first off-road and use the shorter gears on his road set to make second gear corners easier.Don't know much about the Scramblers, but many of the newer Duc's turn over really slow. Mine did the same. It always started but they turn over so slowly it'll make you think the batt is half dead. I researched it and it's just a Duc thing. Some say adding bigger battery wires helps but I didn't bother with that. Just an fyi in case yours is like that and has you wondering.
Also agreed on what was stated already that adding a tooth or two to the rear sprocket helps a lot. Duc gears them like this so they're running lower rpm's and therefor quieter to get past the sound tests. Cheaper and more convenient for the buyer to buy a different sprocket than to change from a more restrictive exhaust.
That's a expensive lesson I have always found way more heat or l/c bikes but also more power.True words ... I may eventually start another thread (ya know to join the ballers club) but I traded in the Scrambler 800 Icon that MP test rode and my Scrambler 1100 Sport on a new Monster thinking a water-cooled engine has got to be cooler than an air-cooled one, right? The heat was my biggest gripe on both bikes.
WRONG!
But I've learned to spread my knees out a bit as I ride (I'm used to hugging the tank trapping all that heat against my legs) and to stand up every now & then and the bike's an absolute riot that no regrets now ... and I'm still in the break-in stage keeping the revs below 6,000 rpm.
And here come the doubts….was the Icon the right call? Should I have gone with the 821 instead? DAMNIT.

Heated grips are Ducati and apparently in the menu on the dash. I reached out to owner before the lady I bought it from.
I'm going with paralysis by analysis. So many good options, all with some positives amd negatives. You never know if you made the best choice. I have faith he will love this bike (for at least a while).Well, you're only one move away from joining the true ballers club.
But seriously, why the doubts? You don't like the way it rides?
I love the way it rides. Just took it out to fill it up, boot around, and check how everything works.Well, you're only one move away from joining the true ballers club.

Maintenance may clean up the brake. Good chance the fluid is years old. Flush/bleed may make a differenceI love the way it rides. Just took it out to fill it up, boot around, and check how everything works.
Bike goes well, sounds amazing, and overall a great experience. But I’m VERY disappointed how spongy the front brake is. I almost think the 500X had better bite…and they sucked!
As for the doubts. Typical stuff…3 kids, wife, danger, and my dad still at this age (early 40s) gives me for buying a motorcycle.
Overall the bike is great. Looking forward to a first longish ride.
Nothing a proper bleed won't fix.But I’m VERY disappointed how spongy the front brake is. I almost think the 500X had better bite…and they sucked!
You mentioned the bike has new bars, any chance the front brake line has a point higher than the master? Seen that happen before when bars are changed to a set that has less rise or pullback. Your master cylinder should be the highest point in the hydraulic circuit.I love the way it rides. Just took it out to fill it up, boot around, and check how everything works.

Where are you at?Bring the bike over to my place; we'll get the brakes bled properly.
