This character followed me home…

What a saga you put us through! I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.

What do you want a Honda that starts on one crank every time? What fun is that? This is part of the character you wanted 😛
Thanks! And yes…a simple start is too much to ask for?

Apparently this thing has heated grips somewhere and a USB…that might be some phantom drain.

Need to do some checks first.

Thanks everyone. I’m hoping this was the right decision.

Bonus points is the SO in Cobourg was right before the 401 so I popped in and got it registered as the previous safety was still valid.

Took it out for a spin plateless in my area and it sounds way better than the X. Good power, brakes a bit touchy and throttle snappy.

HTF do I do anything with the Power Commander 5 that this thing comes with?
If it is set up correctly you ignore it.

How hard is it to replace the bars? Was going through the goodies that came with the bike and RENTHAL bar was there!

So overall...bike came with:
- Power Commander 5
- Renthal bar
- Spoked wheels w/ new tires
- Sliders
- Luggage
- Stock + Mustang Seat
- Stock + V&H exhaust
- Cast wheels
- Grip warmers (although not sure where the switch is)
- USB

First thing's first will be to check the battery voltage, find all the different features on the bike, and get riding to get used to it.

I'm sure I'll have a lot of questions for everyone.

Thanks to everyone for your help and guidance to get here.

Bring it over to my shop. I'll run it up the 404 to Keswick and back to confirm the Power Commander is setup correctly.

Congrats.

We now wait for the made for tv series based off your search for "character"

"...very loosely based on real-life events. Some scenes contain fiction"
Should’ve tossed a Sportster in there for comparison.

If you're not going off-road, cast wheels are lighter. Are your spoked wheels tubed or tubeless?
No clue. Not even sure how to check in all honesty. I’m hoping tubeless as I may swap them to the cast wheels…or buy an 80/20 like the Shinkos I had on my X as I really liked them.

Another thing I want is the hard luggage mount but maybe that’ll be a Christmas gift as I have my E21s and those would work well on the bike instead of the tiny soft luggage it comes with (which for some reason is two different sizes).

Power Commander is likely matched to the V&H noisemakers, just leave it.

Heated grips should be a switch on the bars, or a slide switch beside the left grip. Properly wired, if should be switched on an ignition on relay. Same for USB.

Laced wheels are the premium on most modern bikes. Ballers keep them.

Renthal bars are aftermarket, they are very good. If the stock bars were not included, the upgrade might be due to a 'previous owners event.

Will do thanks. Once I get the garage all cleaned out.

If it’s too much bad ‘character’ I’ll just go back to Honda.
You are going to learn a lot of new things.
Every Ducati i have had (except the muffin) has benefited from going down one tooth on the cs sprocket. It makes 2nd gear usable, but lightens the front wheel.Hehehe.
You will learn about torque.
You will find an rpm that you don't like.
You might find a fastener that is immune to loctite.
You will be a ducatisti when you learn that you will never learn all of it.

I need a stand and I think I can use one of these jacks…

There’s a sweet stand that lists the whole bike off the ground…but wowza it’s pricey…

Maybe will look into the whole table again.

@mimico_polak
Wait a minute....
is this the bike you meant here

And I told you to reach out again........
Yes.

It got sold. I reached out…still sold.

Kept on Kijiji and FBMP and saw the accessories getting posted by new owner. Next day bike shows up, and a video on owners FB of her dropping it. Thankfully she installed sliders and they took all of the drop.

So I emailed her, got a deal and picked up and registered today. Insurance tomorrow. Bike is at a friends house as I have no space in the garage so hopefully it’ll be fine until tomorrow.
