Are you talking the one with the ninja motor? Yeah, a 19hp twin acts a bit different lol In my case, my twin is good for 50ish hp. The vulcan 900 twin is 45hp

Yours is good for 44.6 HP actually. With 47.9 ft/lbs torque.

A 2006/07 Vulcan 900 is good for 50 HP and 57.5 ft/lbs torque.

The Vulcan makes more HP and Torque than the Shadow... but not the numbers that would be expected from a 158cc increase.
 
You are correct sir, I had it backwards. I do remember from when I was shopping that I believe the power to weight was about the same and with more weight and inefficient use of displacement, I expected the mileage to be worse with the vulcan.

Was talking about the 250 virago here with 19hp twin. Which the ninja vulcan does not have a v-twin.

"Need a second vehicle so selling my baby. Purchased in July of 2016. Since owner ship I have done all maintenance myself (oil,air filter, spark plugs) I have only put roughly 4000kms myself. Bike will need a new light switch as I've had to hardwire it so lights will stay on. Also could do with new seats or rewrap them. Will also need new brake pads for safety. It also has a D&D exhaust. Other then the issues I've mentioned bike runs great. It has been sitting since July of last year ridding only a few times. Properly stored with stabilizer and sea foam to keep moister out of the gas tank. I also did an oil change since putting it away. Always garage stored. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask. Also I am a motivated seller as I've found a car id like to purchase. Looking for 2000.00 or best offer. I also have a few sets of gear as well. Multiple helmets gloves and jackets and also an icon vest."

A few odd issues, so probably best offer might be around $1500?

you can easily get a 2017 for 13k or even lower. They aren't selling a whole lot of new R6's (or any 600 ss anymore)

Look around, you'll find some leftover models.

17 is the new gen anyway. no difference between 17-18

You really think I can get a 2017 for 13k? Maybe 14k out the door? I checked with my insurance company and the 2017 is 1800 a year CHEAPER than the 2015... very odd but true.

They were still relatively expensive for squids to buy and crash. That is how BMW and ktm had such great ss rates for a while. As the value dropped, insurance rates climbed.

Man, I miss mine...
It's a really good deal if it only has scratches.
I sold mine with new chain, sprocket,tires for about 4k last year
