The Reasonably Priced Used Motorcycles for Sale Thread

nice bike
there are some nice RCs out there
paid between 7000 and 8500 a few years ago
looks like inflation has hit the superbikes too
also had an 04 R1 and they are selling for same or more than what I sold my bike for almost 15 years ago
Zero depreciation, I know what I've got, now pay up

Nostalgia can really make you part with your money!

I paid $9600 for a new 2001 RC51 back in 2002. It’s insane what some people are looking to get for them now! Great bike, but it’s NOT an RC30/45. If this was mint with Moriwaki/Sato exhaust, Penske rear shock, etc….and if it was a 2002+ MAYBE it might fetch closer to what this one is priced at. But it’s way overpriced imho

the most expensive RC51 on Kijiji was $15000 in Guelph
ad is gone...

anyone else see a reasonably priced and depreciated superbike out there?
the motorcycle landscape has changed a lot from the supersport / superbike arms race of the 2000s
all new sportbikes every 2 years and not just BNG, Bold New Graphics

They also have a CBR900RR for 5200.

SAFETIED last week.
Bike is clean and straight, pulls hard.
New plugs, valves adjusted to spec, brand new Battlax S21's, Freshly powder coated wheels. Did the work myself through winter.
Everything works perfectly.
Priced to sell, wifey all over me ffs.

With 85,000 kms, somebody got their money's worth. It's a pretty robust motor, though. I'd be a bit worried about the 'loud AF' pipes running it lean, but if it has a PC3 or PC5, that would be better.

Those are also some pretty sizeable chicken strips. Not sure if the tires are new, but if not, worth checking the front end for wheelie damage, as the rider could be squidly. No worries about track day running at least.

Good price? Bad price?

Anything to worry about with these bikes?

As always be very very careful with vehicles from la belle province. You don't want to get stuck with something you can't register here. It's a very pretty bike. I have no idea on pricing.

EDIT:
Original tires seven or eight years old is no good. Include rubber in your budget.

More curious about price as I’d not be buying from QC. Something about that province and vehicles from there doesn’t sit well with me even though @PrivatePilot and others have had good luck with it.

I have been told many times before, could be an urban myth
Insurance specialists please weigh in
Always get an insurance quote on a VFR
They have a higher claims history than most bikes and this causes higher rates

there are some good prices out there this week
I wish facebook marketplace was more organized like Kijiji
lots of stuff on there but can be a bit of chore sorting through
like going to Winners and finding a cool shirt but have to go through whole rack to get it

Always get an insurance quote for any bike you're looking at unless the difference between $500 and $5000 a year is inconsequential to you
