The Reasonably Priced Used Motorcycles for Sale Thread

do you have an empty project spot in your garage?

what a fantastic bike to street or track. and stock exhaust included - beauty.

1985 rz350, fresh motor, piped, wp shock, $5000

Talk about seeing your old bike for sale (sort of). That looks like the Hawk I sold to a guy in London last year based on the location, colour, and cut-down Muzzy exhaust.

Just sold my 2012 honda CBR250RA for $2,350.00. 2 years ago, it was rejected by a dealer after seeing it in person for trading in for $1,500.00 for Triumph Trident 660

Welcome to the world of NO NEW BIKES. Used machines are going for ridiculous prices, you won.

You got $2350 on a trade in, or private sale?
Private sale. Its posted for $2,500.00 after seeing some similar bike for 3k+. Buyer asked for a discount of $2,200.00 and i sent it away for 2,350.00. New tires, chain, brakes from 2 years ago which i didn't really used it a lot due to pandemic.

Edit:
I never thought that i would feel a bit worried for the new driver. I think he is 16 years old according to his dad if ever something happens to him on my bike. I talk to the kid and asked him to be very, very careful.

It's hard to pick a better first bike but I understand your fears. The best you can do is be honest about the condition and hope the kid makes good choices. If it was a supersport, I probably wouldn't sell to the kid even if he had the money. I don't know, it would depend on the conversation/maturity/related experience (some 16 yo kids have been hauling ass in the dirt for 13 years).

newish tires and chain/sprock is good for sale. sounds like it was a decent fair sale for someone @ 2350$
Yes only reason i changed tire is due to frustration when the dealer rejected it. I wanted to use it for 3 more years or so but just couldn't since we were on the lockdown. The dealer was surprise to see the picture of the existing tire condition when the odometer is almost 50K. He said he never saw something like it before.

On another note, I asked for insurance quotations from different companies for 2022 Panigale V4. Cheapest was TD for 1.5k about 2 weeks ago, today i got $897.00 annual. He said he thought the key was the mileage for a year. First i indicated 2k/annually then i changed it to "200" and he was surprised to see it went down too.

Tough call. I wouldn't sell a more powerful bike to a kid either. My conscience wouldn't let me.

A buddy of mine sold his bike to his buddy many years ago. Guy promptly gets into an accident and loses his leg downtown Toronto. My friend never forgave himself for selling it...but if he didn't sell it...someone else would sell it to him and same result could have happened.

I sold my bike to my cousin and if anything happened I'd have a heavy heart...but it's been 5 years at least now.
