The Reasonably Priced Used Motorcycles for Sale Thread

anything wrong with this picture? I just found out insurance would be cheap as chips for this bike!!!!

Nothing wrong with this picture. Take away the Ducati badge and it's a 12 year old 600cc touring bike. That too with a stupid paint job.

The monster line is the entry level ducati... this is priced right.. IMO should really be in the 3's.

This is reasonably priced:
Ducati 796 (with single sided-swingarm) for $6800. No mods.

Currently @ 9k kms - will need major service at 12k - I believe it's ~ $1k service.

That service should be ~$600-700

I can just service it myself. I realize there is a desmo cam setup but seems not too much harder than regular valve work

There are DIY videos, and it's easier on older bikes, but you may require some $pecial tools.

Max Oxley wrote an interesting article about Ducati MotoGP problems, including very frustrated mechanics who hate working on those bikes.

I'd be more concerned about Ducati electrics at that age.

Hello,

I got your reply to my Honda 600 hornet ad listed on the kijiji
and i confirm that my bike is still available for $2000 last price. The bike is for 2010 with Mileage: 11000 km only,600 cc displacement.
This bike looks and runs like new! It's in mint condition. The bike is very comfortable to drive.

I'm getting rid of my bike because i no longer use it since i went abroad for archaeological research where i'll be living
for two long years and i left the bike to my brother who was keeping it since a few months but he called me a few days ago
saying that he's moving to New york and he can't any longer keep my bike. I don't have anyone else around who will be keeping it for me for all those long years so i decided to sell it quickly at a low price to get rid of it. I intrusted the bike to a private truck driver who's taking care of the sale and of the delivery as well.
Im very happy that u find interest in my bike and i assure you that the bike is in very great shape, nothing wrong with it at all,u'll have great fun with it.

So i've talked to the truck driver that i found someone who's buying my bike and he's requesting your details and house address
so that he will transport the bike and all its paperworks(MTO ownership,Uvip,Bill of sale)
to your door with no cost because I submitted to his credit a deposit which will be used to convey the
motorcycle to the buyer's home that will save you additional transport costs and once the bike is at your home you will test drive it,
check all the papers who has been transmited to me by my brother and have already signed by myself addition a
photocopy of my Identity Card that i've already send back to country for the transaction with the ministry of transportation and
if you find everything ok then you will take the bike and settle the payment of the $2000 cash on the spot to become the new owner of my wonderful bike.

So get back to me with your following details and address and i'll forward them to the carrier guy and he will get in touch with you to set up a date and time for the delivery and the bike will be brought to you asap. Some pictures are attached on piece. Not serious refrain!!!

Full name:..............
City:.................
Post code:.................
House address:.................
Phone #:..................
Delivery days and hours: .............

I'll be waiting to hear from you asap.

Regards,

John

I hope too damn hard sometimes.

Archaeological dig? really? Why not, "I got picked for Biosphere Three" or " I got picked for the Mars mission".

Asking $3K for a '07 Honda 600RR! Could be a scam but it's all the way up in the SOO. I would buy this in a heartbeat as a track bike if I had the cash on hand.

99% sure its fake. For what ever reason the scammers can't figure out spaces or capitalization in their descriptions. A nice bike with a single photo, 2 sentences, and crazy low price is always a scam.

I'm sure you're right but I shot him a note to get confirmation. The scam replies are always hilarious to read

They are, and there isn't much we can do about them except waste as much of their time as possible.

Confirmed scam. Apparently this time he's on a 2 year archaeological research trek (they're getting creative). He wants my address so his "truck driver" can tow the bike over and settle up in cash. I gave him the contact info for 52 division and he replied that the bike will be delivered tomorrow at 3pm lol. Curious he's not asking for money order or cashier's cheque in advance... wonder how this variation of the scam is supposed to play out.

I did reply back to a scammer with my work address and false name, etc. Never did show and I even had the money with me just in case this was going to actually become a real deal. But I guess they did a google earth search and saw that it wasn't a home they could rob. :(

You should forward all that to the fraud squad at 52, maybe they will do something after donut hours.

lol if only. He replied back this morning and now the scam's taking a turn for the typical... says the truck driver doesn't want to take cash cause he's a afraid of being mugged or whatever. So he wants me to send it via western union. I'm trying to see how long I can keep him on the hook for lol
