The Reasonably Priced Used Motorcycles for Sale Thread

EMAIL goodness:

Hi,
I got ur reply to my 2005 Ducati S2R Monster ad and i confirm that the bike is still for sale for $3600.
The bike is a 2005 year model with only 13600 kms,803 cc displacement.
It's in mint condition, runs perfectly and there's nothing wrong with it at all, never been dropped,no scratches.

I'm getting rid of my bike cuz i no longer use it since i went abroad for a job contract and i'll be living over there for many long years so i left the bike to my ca friend who was keeping it since months but he called me a few days ago and said that he's travelling to Manitoba to stay with his ill sister and he can't keep the bike any longer.
I don't have anyone else around who will be keeping it for me for all those long years so i decided to sell it quickly at a low price to get rid of it.
I intrusted the bike to a private truck driver and he's taking care of the sale and of the delivery as well.

So i told to the truck driver once i received ur reply to my ad that i found someone who's buying it and he's requesting ur details and house address so that he will transport the bike and all its paperworks(Ownership,Uvip,Seller's package of sale) to ur door with no cost at ur charge and once the bike is at ur home you will test drive it,check the papers with the ministry of transportation and if u find everything ok then u will take the bike and settle the payment of the $3600 cash on the spot to become the new owner of my wonderful bike.
So get back to me with ur infos below and i'll forward them to the delivery guy and he will get in touch with u to set up a time for the delivery and the bike will be brought to u asap:
Full name:............../City:................./Postal code:................./House address:................./Phone #:..................
I'll be waiting to hear from u asap.

Regards.

I thought I saw somewhere... OH WAIT. my email inbox for 2013 ninja 300, for $3100.

Yeah it's blacklisted along with 749. I can insure a 748/996 for $1200, but it's $5000 for one of those. Ugh. Must be the two sided swingarm ;)

5000... What about statefarm??

I guess i gotta wait until im 60...

No G license. Need to get around to that, would make having one of these bikes possible...

State farm only requires you have had a G class license for 5 years or more. G1, G2, G it doesn't matter.

Lol they are not worth $9,000, whoever wanted that for their 996 was smoking something. $5500-6500 for a 996. $4500-6000 for a 748. They're old bikes, and most model years have potential for serious issues with their rocker arms flaking.

That 748 has been crashed at least once and is not stock. You see a lot of these bikes in really weird configurations since they've probably switched a bunch of owners. That bike has 748/996S rims on it but doesn't appear to be an S. Often you see them with monoposto tails, but they still have passenger sets, or they took the passenger set off but kept the biposto subframe because they're too cheap to buy a mono. Rims get swapped, plastics are frequently not OEM due to crashes, so they have weird decals, etc

Seems it. Any duc fan care to explain why that's so cheap? I saw a 996 not far from me for sale for 9 recently and it wasn't that nice in appearance.

It is now a 14 year old bike, and I'm guessing it needs a major belt and valve service, so you can be looking at another $1500. I've seen them around $5K.
MCN has some red flags on this model:

Bought new and maintained by experts with a money-no-object approach problems would still arise with the Ducati 748. Get an abused motorcycle or skimp on maintenance and four figure bills will haunt your dreams and could become reality with this motorcycle. Check cam belt changes have been done and be aware rocker arms can fail.

That's funny. My guys going on an archeological dig, though his brother is moving to New York as well.

Ad was for a 2007 CBR600RR, 27K Km on it. $3000.

Not too bad, even with 2,500 kms on the clock. "OUR Pricing includes ALL fees and rebates. Pricing is plus TAX only."

Currently a restyled 2014 model is going for $12,999 + tax + fees .
