The Official Ongoing Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking also, Tim (about turn 1 I mean! haha). It was hard to hit it with the weird front end slide I kept getting. I just finished un-track-prepping my bike and also pulled out the emulator valves and took 1/2 a turn out of the valve spring preload. We'll see if I feel a difference. I may also be running my pressures a bit high (29 psi hot) as I've heard that Dunlop tires work better with slightly lower pressures. I'll experiment next time.

So I ended up using Windows Live Movie Maker since it was free and already on my laptop. It's not too bad. Lets me cut out what I want and add a fade in/out which is nice. I've got two more videos from Shannonville that I'll put up on YouTube. The first is almost uploaded. One is on the Nelson circuit and has the GoPro mount clickety clicking so I added some music (I think you guys will appreciate the lyrics as they pertain to riding) to make it more tolerable. The second is on the long track and has good sound, no music. Both show some nice SMP passing spots. Yes, it is possible to PASS other people on an SV. I had to post the vids to prove it, because I know you guys don't believe me

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Hey Dave, nice video... (Sobeys is going to love it).... makes me want to ride...fast.

Ok, so TMP on the 25th should be a go. And it looks like we may have our own photographer too...

Nick - glad to hear your on the hunt - hope the bike turns out to be ok tomorrow.

Tim - you feel like giving babs a little beating....?

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Would love to take Babs out on the track, but unfortunately it won't be this year. That, and I don't know how wise it would be going from a 12.5 rwhp bike to a 142 rwhp from one track day to the next.

Going to Scotland at the beginning of September for 10 days.... that's taking ALL of my extra cash right now.... that, and there's no way my boss would let me take another day between now and then....

Have a couple of friends who want to take the Racer5 course next year too, so I'll probably do it again with them before committing to buying a track bike.

Nick - found a bike that comes with a trailer for you.. will send you an email with the link.

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Thanks for the phone call Tim. I hate when people don't remove adds after they sold it though.

Did you have a chance to upload your vids Tim? In one of the videos i was waving to your camera. LOL

Dean - a bit random but my wife knows you. She is your insurance agent, Jessica Bodaly. LOL small world

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

So on Aug 20th I'm going on a huge road trip, meeting about 15 buddies in Barrie then going up through Muskoka, stop in White falls and do some bridge jumping to cool off. Going to be a super long day but if anyone wants to join me on the ride to barrie your more then welcome.

Here is the route from the Hooters in Barrie: http://mapq.st/omgvGV

Jeff I would love to do that ride, but I wouldn't survive on my SV. I'll hopefully have a new, more touring oriented street ride next year to head up north with.

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Hey nick...
Never bothered uploading my vids.... guess my fumble fingers in gloves didn't get the cameras turned on more often than not. The ones I did get were not stable at all. The front mounted videos would induce an epileptic seizure, and the rears were not bad, but would look without the front.

Hope you end up with that bike!

Hey Dean, I just got back from Toronto and it was raining out that way...

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

I just booked the 25th off work, so now to wait for the weather forecast and see what we can do!

Nick, did you pick up that gixxer?

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

He had an out of town wedding that he had to go to, and now I'm on nights. I'm hoping to go see it this Saturday.

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Hopefully he still has it next weekend!

So, guys, it looks like Racer5 has a track day at Grand Bend on September 8th, and there isn't a SOAR race that weekend, so it might not be super busy (as opposed to the 15th). What do you think? Is it too many to do Aug 25th and Sept 8th? I'm okay with it, just wondering about other peoples' schedules.

Actually hang on a second here... Friday Aug 26th shows Racer5 at Grand Bend. How about that one? (I'm getting this from the trackday hub magazine)

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

You guys may have noticed a ridiculous number of posts by me on this thread in the past week... this is what happens to me after a track day. I cannot concentrate at all at work. Every time I start to do work, I check the forum instead! Come on guys... post something! I'm on the verge of doing work over here! hahaha....

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Look what I found!

Bike For Sale!

Tell your friends :D

I can do the 26th as I'm on days that week, but september 8th i can't due to being on nights. The joys of shift work.

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Hah. I'm on here (and other places) not doing work too.

I've never done a track (I did only just start riding this year).. and I don't have a true track bike obviously.

Is it pure track time or is there anything else to do but watch if you are not out there?

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

save up $300 and do the racer5 program on the cbr 125.

All you need is full leathers, boots, gloves, and helmet.

TMP is in the middle of farm country. So there isn't nothing to do but watch.

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Let me know when you guys are going and I will come this time if I have some warning :). I also can take my trailer if we have a few people coming it will hold up to 6 bikes.
