The Official Ongoing Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Well if you wanted to meet at the Timmies on ottawa and king like 7 or just after that will work for me, I got to be back at 9 as the sitter has to leave then.
I just picked up a fairing bolt kit for my F4i, Not sure what bolts you need but I'll bring it with me I know theres like M5 and M6 bolts, I'll bring them and see if they fit.

I got a silver F4i just so you know.

Well we can try. Which intersection of Ottawa and King? It seems there are two of them :)

Not me! Then I won't have any excuses. LOL

Well Dave, after today, I've come to an astonishing revelation. If your bike needs a slow moving vehicle sign, I think I need my entire bike painted Neon Orange, and my body confined to a neon-orange track suit to boot. :confused1:

Had tons of fun today - thanks so much for letting us use your pavilion setup and the likes. You'll be "Daddy Dave" in our hearts from now till the end of time...
Nick - thanks for the lift!

haha... Tim, don't be so hard on yourself! I'm pretty sure 7 years of track experience will help you increase the pace ;) The goal yesterday was to have fun and learn a few things, right? I would say mission accomplished! Plus you got a knee down, which is a significant milestone. Now you'll be measuring your angle as "not yet knee down" and "knee down". Now that you've felt that point it will be easy to hit it again and push beyond it.

 No problem. Track days are MUCH more fun when you have some good buddies to hang out with.

Awesome day at the track - I've still got that sh^t-eating grin on my face... When can get do it again...? Let try to organize a trip to Grand Bend for september. Looks like there will be a Racer5 trackday on Thursday, Sept 15.

Ok - Sept 15 is pretty far off... so in the meantime I'm thinking about TMP again, on Aug 25.. anyone interested?

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

The only problem with Grand Bend on the 15th is that it's before a SOAR weekend, so it will be packed, especially since not many of the racers will have tried the track yet. I was toying with the idea of Pro6 at Shannonville Long Track on the 19th. I know I said Long Track is not a good one to learn SMP on, but whatever. haha...

I could probably be convinced to go for Aug 25th.

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

If you guys end up going on the 25th, I might tag along and play photographer if that's okay. I'm off that day and could just follow on my bike.

Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.

Sounds like you guys had an awesome time.

Looks good dave, is this before or after you changed your gearing?

Did you just come in to early on turn one?

looks like that SV loves those connecting turns from 2-6

I think this was after I changed my gearing. I was just a little bit hot into turn 1 and couldn't get it turned in as far as I wanted. I was sliding the front there all day if I pushed it to get it to turn. I think I need to take one turn out of my RaceTech emulators to soften the compression damping a bit up front. Yeah, the SV is pretty good for Cayuga, except when litrebikes pass me on the straights. hahaha...

I think your turn 1, lap 3 was the best of the 3 turn 1's according to what Angela was explaining to us. To parrot her suggestions to us on those lines:
Turn 1, well, you mentioned it already. Lap 2, looks like you went long/wide on the exit and hit the ripples (did that a few times myself, and she commented on it), Lap 3 looked to be exactly where she wanted us to be.
This of course, coming from a total SSV Newb, who knows nothing except that I'm too fat for a CBR125. hehehe....
