The Official Ongoing Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread

Anyone riding this week?

Bike has no tires in it so I'm out till sat. I'll be heading out for a ride as soo. As I get the tires on sat morning. Going for my brother in laws fathers last ride kinda thingy. He was an avid biker and passed away a little while ago. After I'm done that in hitting some twisties with the supercorsas ready :) see if they stick on the street as well as on the track. ;)

Anyone ridding tomorrow? Suppose to only be 18 but nice.

bike is race prep'd, so no riding for me until after monday

And...
Babs is totalled.....

Now to make some decisions on how I want to proceed from here... *sigh*

Too bad about babs :(

I think ZX10 next :)

Next sat 22nd anyone up for a ride if weather is nice?

Thinking leave little earlier. Head north? Forks, hwy 13 (south wood) or something like that? Some stops for food/drink pics along the way?

Maybe our last full day ride since the season is coming to end and days are shorter?

So... here's what has been brought to my attention...
2007 GSXR 750 - $6.5K Asking, 9000km with cover and jacket
2006 Ninja ZX10 - $7K firm, 12000km with 2 Joe Rocket Suits and Jacket
2009 Yamaha R6 - $7800 asking - 6000km
2009 Yamaha R6 - $7900 asking - 1500km
2006 Yamaha R1 - $7000 asking - 12400 km
Dave's 929 (check his sig)

ZX10 and R1 would have high insurance I'm sure....
GSXR and R6's are a little on the smaller side... think they'd be too small of a bike (physical size, not cc's) for me?

Thinking of the following offers:
$5750 for the GSXR.
$7000 for ZX10 (price firm)
$7000 for either R6
$6250 for R1.
Dave's asking price for 929.

My offers are as high as I'd go...

The lower the price the better of course.... leaves a little in my pocket after insurance settlement and taxes.
Of course, will have to get new insurance, as Jevco won't cover any of those bikes.

R1! Or zx10!!!

If you buy the 929 then buddy won't rude with us anymore :(

Wait another month and you can go even lower.

But then no more riding for the rest of the season... :-(

My plan would be to ride a bike that I purchase for 2-3 years on the street, then put it on the track.
Buy a new bike when my mortage is paid off in 2.5 years.

None of those are twins. I would not recommend building your own track bike from a street bike. I've done it, huge waste of money. Buy a street bike and when you want a track bike get a used race bike.

I know none of those are twins... but twins that I want are far and few between to be honest with you.. that, and they're pricey (Ducati, KTM)..

You and your exotics... ;) Maybe you can find an SV1000 for the street. That would be awesome because you'd have a full set of spares if you're ever in a pinch for parts (in either direction).

Was at apex ordering parts for my helmet.

Checked out the RC8 1190. Called state farm and they were only 30/mth more than my SV with full coverage. FML I expected waaaaaay more than 350:yr up charge

I am buying a house. Was just getting quote for curiotisy and to help u make a decision.

You want my honest opinion?

If u only have 2.5 yrs left on a mortgage stop being a tight *** and treat yourself! :) with all do respect. YOLO as they say.

Would love to...
If the truck would be paid off I'd seriously consider a pricier bike.
But, there's not enough income to pay for living expenses, mortgage, truck and a fancy bike right now... 2.5 years.. I can wait....

Here's what state farm gives me as pricing...

2007 Suzuki GSP X750: $123.07/month
2009 Yamaha R6: $99.26/month
2006 Yamaha R1: $146.40/month
2006 Kawasaki Ninja ZX 10: $146.40/month

R6 is definitely the most attractive there....
