Time: 2 pm till whenever everyone leaves
Other: Ride your bike in please! If it's raining drive your car.... and BYOB if you're so inclined. Significant others are invited as well as long as there's no cat fights.. then again.. that way I could charge admission.... hehehe...

I'd appreciate it if people could bring a little something as well to share amongst us.

Ack! Just discovered a replacement motor would be between $5850-6500 for Babs... if they can even wring one out of HD...

Hey guys I got a new bike!

82 GS(X)400 winter project for me needs as its needs to have the engine polished cleaned up.

looks clean for an '82! Good luck finding a service manual with decent images, I hope there is one. Are you going to strip down the motor?

The Motor is in perfect running condition its realy tight so im not going to rebuild. So im going to pull the motor to polish the alluminium and clean up some of rust spots. But its all cosmetic restoration. Plus the old GS engine is bullet proof expect the stator.
 
how many miles on it? do you know the last time the wheel bearings, plugs, steering head bearings, etc was replaced? Also be sure to check the date code on the tires. I'm anal about chains and tires, just because you never know what they've been through or how they were (mis)treated. If the motor runs good, leave it alone, check the valves to be sure, but if its tight, looks like a good buy.
