I do tire changes myself, they are always done right and on time that way :) The tools are only about $20 and you can make a wheel balancer out of 2x4's by stripping the grease out of ball bearings from princess auto for about $10.

i was told that you don't need to balance tires, they are balanced from the factory.

Just have to line up the valve stem with the balance mark on the tire.
 
That gets it close, but not all tires have that. The Michelin 2CT's we just installed on my friend's R1 had no marks. I did see wheels be perfectly balanced with no weights, Bridgstone BT001's on my old CBR-F4 wheels. You can also check the balance of your wheel with no tire or weights to be sure where the heaviest/lightest points are, then align the tire accordingly to get it really close.
 
I try to keep marks off the rims, but shes a racebike at heart, and scratched rims is the least of the scratches on there. Funny part is, I don't mind the scratches, they aren't defects, they're good times had.

Check that forecast again... Tuesday is the only rain date, the rest of the days are sunny and temps above 10C.
 
Any of you guys doing the Port Dover Friday the 13th next week?
 
Nope. Maybe in July, but probably not. LOL It just seems to me that if I'm taking a day off work I'd much rather go somewhere other than Port Dover, like Haliburton or Perry Sound.
 
I've got to got to Brantford Wednesday to pick up some photos I had done. Anyone want to come along for the ride? Leaving Timmies Northfeild & Weber about 5:30ish. Taking the longer fun way to and from.

Booked it of am going down with a Buddy. Leaving from Ayr if you dont have anyone else to ride with! I think hes on a cruiser and im a pussy so might not be as spirited a ride as you like :)

Mind you with the amount of POPO around paris and AYR on fri 13th probably not a bad thing

That's a possibility... have to do some errands and work at my mom's place in the morning... depending on how that goes, I should be good...
