Is it possible that we're paying for the mistake of Mr "squirt and run" Deadbeat. It's easy to blame the single mom but she's the one looking after the kid.
It's harsh but it works the other way as well when a guy marries big boobs and can't afford the upkeep. In both cases the attitude is "I shouldn't have to pay for my bad judgement." Somebody else should pick up the tab.
I'm not a fan of divorce but it beats murder if there is a mismatch. Again the theme is to make responsible decisions.
Communism has only ever worked on a very small scale. Communes exist around North America, and as you mention in Israel. Most are totalitarian led, and fail after sooner or later.
Perhaps the Kibbutz is a little different, but if you read up on them they could not maintain Communism, today many are private, incomes are based on roles, not equal distribution, and property is no usually communal.
Communism over time stratifies people into 'do as little as possible to get my piece of meat' and 'I did more than you, I deserve a bigger piece of meat.
Try the Interweb. I hear there are sites where you can interact with performers -- tip, cheer & heckle if you want. No cover, you just just need a phone, 70" HD TV and Chromecast. And since the bar is at home, drinks aren't $20.

I think the Kibbutz works as the stakes aren’t high and people buy into the system, they aren’t born into it. Screw around with the system and what does that really get you? More turnips? Assign anything of any real value to it and someone’s always going to want more of the pie. Human nature.
Communism, to me, has always been a theoretically reasonable idea at it’s core that fails miserably in real life because humans will be humans.

The problem with Communism is human nature - the two are incompatible.
There will always be some who figures out with a little extra work, they can become a bougies. So unless there is a way to neuter ambition from the human race, Communism is just a dream that always ends badly.
Perhaps you mean socialism has some reasonable ideas?
communism works great , if your a communist . But every great communist power has a massive army presence to keep the communists , well, communists . Add a few capitalists to the program and it slowly starts to unravel.
Even my favorite communist place to visit ,Cuba, allows private business and ownership of property, creation of new business and 'capitalism light'
The old system is not sustainable.

No, fundamentally the idea of “everyone is equal” and the removal of ego, the people own the means etc in working for a common goal is, in some situations, a reasonable idea. But when you apply communism as a governmental system it’s a recipe for disaster unless you’re a masochist and like dictatorial regimes.
Socialism is bit different, most western countries practice some form of economic socialism or democratic socialism. That I’m fully in favour of.

The Hutterites out west are communal and very successful financially. Religious communes can work but if any capitalism desires come into play, things break up fast.
It is my understanding that the Hutterite individual owns nothing in the community. They get three hots and a cot. The individual doesn't own any part of the property just a place to sleep with your family.
Meals are communally prepared and served in a mess hall. Everyone works for the good of the "Commune" and don't get paid.
Profits from the sale of produce and livestock goes to the commune for the latest in farm equipment and machinery.
The biggest problem is that if John Doe decides to leave after 30 years of labour he leaves with only the shirt on his back. A system like that doesn't attract newcomers and inbreeding is an issue.
Everyone is considered equal but, not unlike communism, elders / leaders seem to have a Stalin like grip on power and there are stories of sexual abuse etc.

The thing is we are not equal. If you are a better hunter or farmer than me, you will eat better, become stronger and healthier, and have more/better choices in partners and friends. Sooner or later a pecking order sorts out, for things to remain equal you must be altruistic enough to share rather than exploit your strengths. Rarely happens, and never happens in a group.
If you want to see the human element in this, put a bowl of jelly beans into a circle of 2-year-olds. Watch to see how equally they get distributed.
I don't know a lot about communism but I know that a planned economy is destined to fail.
Any system that creates a market for light bulbs that didn't work and makes used cars were worth more than new cars can't be all good.
