i've been listening to 88.1 in TO for a few days now, playlist is predictable but there are a few nice surprises and at this point very little if any stupid banter. I'm liking it.

No idea what CFNY will be doing going forward, thank God for Fred in the afternoon because beyond him there is nothing.

Same here. 88.1, what an incredibly refreshing relief to music. Can listen to lost classics from REM, the Cure, Stone Roses, Talking Heads, etc. without having to hear about pee pee, boobies, poo poo, penis' jokes. I was actually getting dumber listening to DB and the edge.

Thanks to the guys here for the heads up.
 
88.1 for me is a bust. Crap reception in the car. Even in the GTA the signal drops out annoyingly often.
 
I was just getting into this new radio station last week, and then they went and changed the format to all indie music.

Try 94.9 as well. It's out of Oshawa so I'm not sure how far the signal will travel West but it's the same music as you're listing. It was a refreshing change from 102 when I found it.

+1 came across this station the other day. Much better music. I get it in Mississauga
 
Allan Cross did a guest dj set on 88.1 the other day, his daily blog has a link. I miss him from daily/weekly transmissions.

If his History of new Music series ever gets put onto a disc set, it would be the best thing to ever have IMHO, the guys self title as professional music geek is well deserved.

Im happy to learn again that there is some seriously great music out there from some lesser known artists.

My SoundHound app has been working overtime figuring out the names and titles of bands and songs.

Their feed has RDS info if your stereo supports it. If not, their website also has a live stream with a full historical playlist :)

been listening in got it via tune in radio (app for wdlive, iPhone, & android). It's nice to have different music
 
Wow this gregg beharrell dude is like a nerdy version of dean.

I think dean's days are numbered.

Can you tell me what the name of the station is? I did a search on TuneIn for 88.1 and got a few hundred results.
