The CMA and the FIM

You ride with Jordan from time to time I believe, please ask him what he thinks of the CMA and roadracing.
Shall I ask Amy too

I do know Jordan likes the maple syrup trophy.
@bigpoppa would not recommend poking fun at his obscure CMA national gold trophies.

This last remark begs the question (again) - did you ever bother to read the original press release or listen to the podcast ? A simple yes or no will suffice.

Re: the membership question: That will hopefully be resolved soon. The MCC I believe is going to be restructured with more grass-roots membership and democracy of a sort. I know that's a push coming from some.

Re: Why does MCC need FIM affiliation, and what will they do better than the CMA currently does?
The FIM has all sorts of programs and funding and support for national events/organizations. Now, it might well be that one org is getting a great deal of that funding right now, or it might be that nobody is, because it's not being pushed for, applied for, distributed, etc.
For example, there's a chunk of money available for Enduro events run on a national level in FIM-affiliated countries. It's not huge, but it's enough that access to it might actually change the field in terms of what can and should be run, and how much promotion and money can go behind it.

In summary:
We're a tiny, tiny country when it comes to motorcycling. Every single drop of money we can squeeze from anywhere will make a difference in the hands of invested, active, and accountable organizations. I think the MCC is a better option on those three counts than the CMA ever has been. And that's why I'm desperately passionate to see this situation change.

Yes to the press release.
Did you listen to the podcast?
Did you come to my July13 2013 event?

@TK4 good you started this thread, it really helped me connect a lot of dots.

So now we all know that you don't care about canadian motorcycle racing. Trials comp. is not racing. And you dont want to better the situation for future riders. Are you sure you dont work for the CMA???

So.... you finally admit to not being bothered to gathering all the information before forming an opinion ?
The podcast explains a lot, take the time to listen. Don't let the big words scare you off.
What is this dot connecting you refer to ?
Re: July 13, 2013- WTF has that got to do with anything in this thread ?
So many questions....

BTW - I have no personal skin in this game, no hidden agenda.
If you somehow came to a conclusion that I do, your tinfoil hat is on wayyy too tight.

No offence, but I don't think that's fair.

The guy has stated his perspective and understanding of the situation, been challenged on them and acknowledged some openness to the other side.

He deserves credit for that.

A few years ago a rider from the ATA (CMA) attended one of our SOCT trials. At the riders meeting he asked why we started our event when we did. Then asked about our sign up procedure and event promotions. Then our rules were not correct. (we run nostop). Next up was our insurance provider was in question and affiliation with the CVMG.
The riders meeting went about 1/2 hour past start time.
Politics and motorcycles should never meet.
There is a reason the SOCT does not need cma sanction. It's redundant.
I was not there, but was it Paul-Yvan ?

In events I organize we have a disclaimer on the bottom of the published instruction sheet, and on the signup sheet that as event organizers we withhold the right to refuse entry to any participant regardless of their affiliantion with any regional , national, or international body.
It stops (slows) the politics and non sense at a sporting event.

Like any sport you can pick, there is always that doooshbag that will tie up the riders meeting, pick holes in the event scheduling and file a protest against a marshal because he wore blue socks on brown sock day.

Politics can ruin lots of club type events. I left the SCR and the DOCC because of the bull.

How many times have you left CMA ?

hehe, I left DOCC after 2 seasons, I met 45 really cool guys and two total *****. Its amazing the problems 1 dick can cause never mind 2.
