That's not even remotely shocking. It's the same thing as people that come into money and buy these huge extravagant houses. Here's the purchase price.... they just forget to look at monthly maintenance costs for that huge indoor pool hot tub and 10,000+ sq feet

The MKC Gary is looking at is just a gussied up Ford Escape, not related to the Edge.

Drive the Venza till it dies.

2015 model. For work. To and from clients, meetings, etc. Bang for $, and comfort top factors for purchase. (he has an S2000 for playtime)

Mistook the MKC for the MKX (I think).
Was looking at the new Escape, we have previous generation, and thinking that all the smaller SUVs look the same now. Not impressed.

@Gary, my BIL took out a bunch of crossover/ SUVs last month -- RZX, Edge, Venza, Enclave etc. Said for the $, and feel, Edge won. So he bought it. Lincoln should be the same, only better, right? I was surprised he liked it better than Toyota / Lexus

The Edge is on the same platform as the MKX. I really liked the ride in it (MKX), but I'll never own anything with those stupid passive knobs. That goes out the window for '16 however. Back to knobs that turn.

Ever since I killed the kids, and ate the dog, I really don't need a full size. Don't want one either. My F150 is just pita to jockey around town in.

Just to point out the fact that many reviewers say that the McLaren MP4-12C rides as smooth as a Rolls - if I had to pick a supercar/hypercar that I'd drive often, I'd also like it to be comfortable when going through the pothole-ridden streets of downtown TO.

I can only hope that I can afford a beauty like that or a 570S before they're obsolete. As is I can't even afford insurance on a little 125cc motorcycle!

I've got 3 kids and an ex wife. No future in spendy exotics for me. Gonna stick with bikes and appreciate the simple stuff.

Seems like a lot of folks have a lot of knowledge on that's things and very few actually have the means and experience to really know.

Used to read car and driver and road and track while in the can to avoid changing a diaper.

This thread is a little too big league and then it went into family SUVs and stuff. Not sure what happened but guess I'll check back for more.

No. Because when you own them you know that every one has an appeal to someone from corvette to pagani . You can't explain to a corvette lover why they should have another type of car even if they can afford it.
And someone who has never owned or lived with the car they are arguing about is only justifying their own unfounded bias
