I get paying 10-15k for ceramic on a GT2 or something but an SUV **** me that's hilarious
Ceramic brakes are for rich people with household debts of 1 million plus.
rich people.... without household debt then? LOL
I've never driven anything with ceramics but if I was buying a new high end sports car I'd probably splurge just because BALLIN'
But then I used to hear that they aren't the street-friendliest thing in the world either. So maybe the people who fork over the money for them and just use their cars on the street are a misguided bunch.
Average personal debt outside of mortgage is something like 30k? 10-15k is hardly half that. What price safety? Also snow tires.
Lol weren't carbon ceramics created to withstand the high heat generated from high speed braking? The hell is that gonna come in handy for on the street.
Sounds like a gimmick to me, on an SUV at least.
This is way out of my league, but I bet there are aftermarket options that are cheaper and better.

My Ceramics work fine on the street you wouldn't know the difference in normal driving and I don't owe a million plus or even half of that.
Good, now second test:
Are your tires some some Chinese brand?
I see lots of expensive cars in Toronto with garbage tires. Bet they have ceramics too.
That's what I'm thinking.Less weight, better thermal stability, longer life, supposedly better brake feel, etc. There's a reason they're stupid-expensive, but on an SUV? Just bragging rights, imo.
Because lots of expensive cars in Toronto are owned by poser people with no money. It's crazy when you start buying exotics and see how many people summer lease for 3 months and never service the cars because they have no cash.

@Gary, my BIL took out a bunch of crossover/ SUVs last month -- RZX, Edge, Venza, Enclave etc. Said for the $, and feel, Edge won. So he bought it. Lincoln should be the same, only better, right? I was surprised he liked it better than Toyota / Lexus
This times a zillion. Once I started working with cars like that at my shop you wouldn't believe the amount of people who could afford the lease payment but freaked out and peed their pants at maintenance costs. You know Ferrari brakes should be right in line with pricing for dodge caravan parts
Those are the people I can't stand. They just get it for attention. Waste of a car imo
