Pedestrian at 40 seconds

something fishy going on at this intersection. why is the red a flashing red. as if the lights are broken. its hard to tell but if you look to right at the cross traffic light, (early) it also appears to be a flashing red?- not sure? were the lights flashing red because theere was a problem with lights - in both directions? regardless, the pedestrian should have stopped at island. Anyone else seeing something fishy about the lights?

aren't a flashing red and a solid red two distinct rules under the hwy traffic act...

if so were ped and cars treating it as a 4 way stop with flashing red? and then ped got caught in intersection when lights suddenly started working? not sure..

EDIT perhaps it would be prudent to send this vid to mto for examination/light repair. i'm not going to judge this situation so quickly.

I made a similar comment on an earlier video in this thread - the answer was that some dash cams sometimes don't 'do' red lights well, and interpret them as flashing.

look at the cross traffic light as the the cam car proceeds through intersection on green after the incident - you can see it clearly not? flashing? (cross traffic). furthermore, at the beginning of video all the previous red (brake)lights are solid red? also if this flashing red on a solid red were a cam problem why aren't cars with LED brake lights also showing a flashing red - i'm not buying it for this video/situation. its very clear.

something fishy going on with the lights. do you have another vid showing a solid red but flashing like this?

im reviewing video but im not certain. perhaps.

are you the op? i would like to see other video of the flashing red syndrome with your cam. ideally while your sitting first in line at the red. any examples?

I don't know if you're talking to me, but no, have never posted a video. Here's my similar comment from earlier in the thread - the vid in question is available one post up, and then a few folks mention led flash rate & cam fps rate.

Is likely the rolling shutter effect (Google it, it's the same thing that makes propellers on aircraft look like they're bending or doing completely bizarre ****) coupled with LED's that are actually cycling on/off so fast that the naked eye can't see it, but it shows up on rolling shutter cameras.

Driver charged with 'assault with a deadly weapon' for trying to back into the cruiser and harm the cop, lol.
