Video of crash. Not sure what the cops did to screw up the flight charge. They had him stopped once and he took off. That should have been a slam dunk. No need for a plea deal in court, the other charges were also well supported by evidence.

Stupid to jump in front of a fleeing car. Moment of brilliance to jump onto the hood rather going down in front of it, then being dragged.

What the the hell was Jeff Spicoli doing steroids for? The surfing on Lake Simcoe ain't that good.

Just a guess but likely the crown wanted a swift resolution (trying to clear backlog)and threw out a deal.
Some defense attorney was wahoo free money.

They always want a swift resolution. Ime, prosecutors in traffic court are not great. They'll take an easy win over a fight almost any day. I'm not sure if the criminal charges bump you up to a better prosecutor.

Who did the pit? Cop hopefully.

Did I count right? Three rolls and a roofie
Another random vehicle driving in the right lane. Both vehicles sped up when they saw a stale yellow. I won't be surprised if both get charged.

A litmus test: When you see a yellow light what is your first thought?

A) Can I get through or B) Can I safely stop? Aggressive vs cautious.

Not sure where to post this but…recent crash on the 401 appears to have been called off by brass…yet 6 cruisers continued resulting in the family fatality.

Lawyer up Durham police…

I live in Brampton.. we have our own rules.. If it's been red for less than 30 seconds.. you're good to go.

Seriously.. It's interesting to watch a Brampton intersection.. when a light turns green.. nobody moves for a bit.. I think to make sure no one is running the red.

Or to get off their phones…then realize it’s green so GO!

If the supervisor called off the chase and the chase went against policy even before that, a dangerous driving charge for the cop seems justified and a pretty easy conviction. There is probably enough info on the police dashcam for a 172 as well. Once they stop performing their lawful duties, they should be eligible for all charges a civilian would get.

So OPP in GTA will now get every driver they pull over to blow in an alcohol screening device. Maybe not a bad plan. I was listening to police radio and on the evening of april 30, durham had zero people on shift that were certified to take a reading with the legal breathalyzer and they were looking for an officer from aurora or mississauga to do the test for them. Wth, you are testing everybody and you don't have enough qualified staff to have at least one on each shift? That is going to go poorly.
