The Bad Drivers of Ontario Thread

Only drug dealers and pimps use 2 phones... what are your rates like?
Or corporate workers like myself! I make sure to keep it in the basement after I finish up the day as I don't make it a habit to keep the phone with me.

I know colleagues that take them with on vacations...not sure I'm cool with that. But it's better than taking a laptop.

It depends on how/why it is used. Trading work being able to access you for critical matters for free voice/data in a foreign country might be a worthwhile arrangement for both parties.

Hell no. Then the expectation is you’re always reachable.

Work phone stays in a drawer at home when I leave the country.

Yup. Afaik, vehicles wont connect to two devices simultaneously. When I connect one phone to AA with USB, my car blocks any bluetooth connections.
newer cars can do two. my wifes benz always connects to both our phones via BT. even when I use AA it can take her calls.

I have my work sim in my personal phone. no problem disconnecting. just don't pick up any calls from work outside hours.
phone is big enough as it is (note 20ultra) not carrying two phones.

I don't mind two for redundancy. I don't normally have two in my pocket but the second is often near me (in car or on charger wherever I am). That way one is almost always full. I have been burned before by a power outage just as a phone needs a charge. I have some battery packs to recharge them but it's better to start a situation with full battery and use the packs to extend service if required. I like the notes and normally have at least one but recent samsung prices made no sense to me so I have S20FE and still running a Note 8 (I have an S20FE in the drawer to replace it but it's still working so I am still using it).

thats a good point. i had to get the camera repaired on my phone the other day and did not bring a backup with me.
drove to get windshield quotes with no cell/data. realized how attached to it I was.

I am neither sadly. They seem to be quite profitable careers. I decided to keep work phone numbers isolated from personal phone numbers. For quite a while, they were on two separate carriers as well to maximize coverage.
Same. My solution is screw work, when I'm off hours, and I don't drive anywhere for work.

Brady Robertson is challenging some of his convictions. Never mind that he got super high and drove at extremely high speeds killing a whole family, he is complaining that his sentence is harsh because he is young and indigenous. F that guy.

RIP little guy. Rolling a golf cart with six people in it should be grounds for charges (although emotional hit will likely exceed potential legal/financial hit).

A four-year-old boy has died in hospital after an accident involving a golf cart in Peterborough.

Peterborough County OPP received reports of a golf cart rollover on Villiers Line in the Township of Otonabee-South Monaghan on Sunday around 12:30 p.m.

Investigators say a golf cart carrying six people crashed near Bellmere Winds Golf Course in Keene, Ont. near Rice Lake.

6 people on a golf cart - wtf ???
They do sell people mover carts with multiple rows of seats. I doubt this was that though.

I don't know how it ended up but a few years ago in York Region (newmarket?), a golfer got raging drunk and crashed his cart on course and died. His family sued the course for not installing barricades along the steep hill he drove down. No sense of personal responsibility anymore.

  • Wow
Reactions: TK4
Appeared to be 1 car blow through a yard, hit a car at a stop sign, keep going, hit 2 cars in their driveway, and then stop at the stairs of the house 2 doors down….WTF.

Credit woodlands and the first stop sign south of burnhamthorpe.

Not sure who screwed this up. 403 EB is closed. Hopefully injuries aren't bad.

"Eastbound 403 just before waterdown road , school bus loaded with kid's and Go bus met in an accident. Stay away!!"

EDIT:
Go bus was being towed by a heavy wrecker at the time. No serious injuries. Sure looks like the towtruck pulled out on the school bus.

This is what I mentioned a few posts up….

Car blows through the fence…

Passes the road, hits a car, pushes it, and ends up 2 houses (about 50m) further…

Car was stopped against the stairs on this house.

So that’s why #6 south of Clappisons Corners was a gong show.

Some people are just dumb. If you have something that looks like a gun in the car, don't drive like an idiot. If you do get pulled over, for the love of god, don't take the weapon out of hiding and place it where it is visible. I have little hope that either of these morons will ever accomplish something good in life.

On July 25, 2022, at approximately 7:00 a.m., Northumberland OPP officers conducting speed enforcement on Highway 401 eastbound in the Cobourg area observed a vehicle travelling at a high-rate of speed and initiated a traffic stop. During the stop, one of the occupants removed a firearm from the glovebox and placed it on the dashboard. Officers affected an arrest and charged both occupants. Further investigation revealed that the firearm was a replica.
