Operative words are bold (assuming all the information in this brief article is accurate). Trying to assault and actually assaulting are two very different things. Beating someone to death takes quite a bit of time, so it's not easy to believe the father did not go way above and beyond protecting his child and didn't have time to consider his actions.

The father have killed a man that may never be proven guilty of any crime.

Maybe "trying to assault" meant his daughter was already stripped of her clothing, terrified lying on the bed and this man was about 1 second away from getting his underwear off...then you walk in.

That man wouldn't have stood a chance if that was my daughter he was about to rape.

No proof, no details and the guy is e-lynched. If he was caught and there was proof of intent smack him with whatever you want. All we have is verbal hearsay from one biased source.

It sure doesn't take much to stampede this flock of sheep into panic mode.

Nothing's been made public to protect the parties involved. Unlike 99% of the members of this community I give the police due credit when investigating crimes. Testimony from a traumatized 4 yr old is tough to fake.
 
Even if he did jail time, chances are the inmates would take it really easy on him.

This is one of those crimes cons can't stomach... he or any other d-bag like him wouldn't last one day in general population.

Dr Manhattan was referring to the father. He'd most likely be a local hero in jail, nobody would bother him. He'd have all the smokes and smack he could take and then some :cool:

As far as I'm concerned it makes no difference if he did or was about to or even thought about molesting the child.
And person that has a sexual thought about a 4 year old dosn't belong as part of the human race and needs to be weeded out imidiatly.
I'm a pretty easy going guy and believe that everyone deserves a second chance for mistakes made in life.
But child molesters are sick fks that there is no cure for, they should be put to death as soon as found guilty,
Father in this case saved the state some money for trail and imprisonment.
Good on him.

I feel the same way about religious people..strangely, society disagrees with me..I suppose we're in the same boat! :-D

During a conversation a friend mentioned hearing a blurb on the radio about a situation in Texas where a father was throwing a party at a ranch and noticed someone paying suspicious attention to his 4 YO daughter. He then caught the guy making a move and went at him but did not mean to kill him.

If it's the same event it paints a clearer picture.

In another picture one can imagine the guy continually beating the alleged pervert until his head was mush.

Yep. Amazing how bigotry and double standards work, especially when coupled with ignorance. Pedophiles are incurable, but need to be shot on the spot for thought crimes. Homosexuality is a disease that can and should be cured, but it's also a choice. Two cells have more rights than the entire person. It's simply unbelievable how so many people manage to live with so much cognitive dissonance swirling around in their heads...

I am not gay or even pro-gay but I question that statement. I prefer the opposite sex and nothing would entice me to hop into the sack with a guy. If a guy chooses to go with a guy my opinion is that he is programmed that way. Regarding curing someone, have they been cured or taught to comply?

While aspects of gay relationships gross me out if it doesn't involve me it's none of my business.

Double standards / hypocracy are beyond common on this site and many others. You can bash Christianity all you want but don't ever use the "N" word as it might offend.

Pedophelia is a world wide elephant in the room. I don't pursue the subject but it's pretty obvious that a lot gets swept under the carpet. If you want to be a runway model try to look like a 14 YO.

You didn't get the sarcasm. I should have been more clear about it, my bad. As far as sexual orientation goes I am of the opinion that it doesn't matter and those that say it does are sexually insecure. In other words, there is no 100% gay or 100% straight, but it wouldn't be relevant to anything even if there was.

This may be controversial or hard to comprehend to some, but sexual attraction has nothing to do with age. Parents of all those "toddlers in tiaras" are the ones that need their head examined, not the people that get aroused by a five year old all made up and dressed to look like a 20yo porn star.

Furthermore, thoughts are neither detectable nor should be punishable - actions are what distinguishes a murderer from someone who wishes someone dead. Anyone who doesn't think that's a sound principle belongs back in the middle ages or the kindergarten.

I get what you're saying, but many pedophiles don't need children to be dolled up beyond their years to be sexually attracted to them. You don't think that there is inherently something hard-wired wrong in their brains?
