Tech inspection at TMP

Securing to the lower triples is a good way to do it IF the fairings of the bike allow clearance to do it this way.

FZR - this is the way I do it. ZX10R - not possible.

This is a bit off-topic, but thought to ask here instead of starting a new thread:

I've got 4 straps that are rated 650lb working strength (2000lb breaking strength). If I use these to tie down the bike in the trailer, am I asking for trouble? Also, any recommendation from the pro's where to tie it to? It will be a uhaul bike trailer, and I was thinking the lower triple in the front, and the passenger footpegs on the rear. Sorry, never had to trail a bike before, and this is gonna be my first track experience
EDIT: I don't have a canyon dancer, and there's no time to get one for next week. But I've got soft ties, maybe wrap around the grips a few times?!
Lower triple is the best place to tie if you can, that is where I tie down my track SV

I've got a set of canyon dancer I wouldn't mind loaning out. It makes life so much easier.

Pm if interested.

I think I'm gonna take you up on this offer, and for the future I'll buy one of my own. Sending you a PM now.

Where? I was at Sturgess in Hamilton on Friday, they didn't have any in stock...i should have ordered one :( Know any place that might have them?

Ok, looking at PartsCanada catalog online, they seem to have them, so I guess I can place an order with Sturgess and hopefully get it by Friday. I'll order the one with the cups "Bar-harness II" it's called.

I measured my bars and they are 28 1/2 inch, so now I don't know which size to order, the one "up to 28 inch", or the one "up to 32 inch"??

I hear that Platinum Powersports has them on the shelf :)

2h35m one way, lol...a bit hard to fit in my schedule during the workweek :|

Anyways, sent Sturgess an email, hopefully they can get me a unit by Friday, we'll see. I ordered the short one (up to 28inch, although exact length between bar ends is more like 28.5 inch, hope it will fit).

I bet they could ship it :)

If not, I've got one (like new) for sale.

I've already arranged with Platinum Powersports to ship me one on Tuesday. Thanks for the offer though!

This has been a great thread so far, already answered a few questions for me and solved my problem with the tiedown equipment :) So I'll try one more time to find an answer here, hehe

My front tire is Bridgestone S20, and my rear is Bridgestone BT-016 PRO. I'm thinking to run 31psi on the front and 29psi on the rear on the track. Does that sound more or less what you'd have on these tires on the track? I just want to be perfectly prepared :)

Oh, ok. It said on your website that you had to, but I guess that's for general lapping?

Right - for general lapping, side stand has to be tied up or removed.

For the Intro to Track School, no such requirement.

It's getting closer, people! Last Intro to Track School of the year!

Weather forecast looks bad right now but it's Cayuga - when's the last time the forecast was correct???

If our seatbelt laws were rendered obsolete would you refrain from wearing one?

How exactly does this whole tying up works if there's nobody around to help keep the bike up? Is it by riding to your rear stand and putting it on it, or how?

Can't wait! No rain would be nice though...or I'll get to use these FroggToggs for the first time, finally ;)
