TD wants to chase away all customers

maybe you should re-read your own ****ing post.......let me help you:

"TD said this does not affect my insurance (because I was driving a car), but what about StateFarm? I heard they base your motorcycle insurance off your car insurance?"

what part of my answer was incorrect?
Ya, they are going to base your motorcycle insurance rates based on your car record. Lol

Nah man, you're clearly wrong. Called a few other insurance companies (except Statefarm because I know they'll be more expensive till I hit 25).

TD says your car record doesn't matter and exists as a separate entity (one wrong).
Jevco said the same thing (two wrong).
Kanetix.ca gives no difference between me killing somebody via car, or clean record (three wrong).

In case you missed it, you're wrong. Hence why I told you to reread the entire post because I stated twice, which I'm surprised you still didn't read, that TD does NOT give a flaming duck about your car history and it exists on a separate entity used to judge your CAR INSURANCE.

EDIT:

What you wrote was "Doesn't matter you were driving a car. It's on your record now". If I read the post correctly, it has absolutely nothing to do with my question. Which was "do any other insurance companies operate like TD".

If you were writing an English literacy test, you would fail due to your answer having absolutely no relevance to the question what so ever. You made a statement that I already made in my post.

Geez man, I'm not even from Canada.

I just checked my rate online (currently insured with TD) to see if I was to expect a rate change and it's still in the neighbourhood of what I'm paying now.
I have home auto and bike with TD.
09 R6, GM license for 20 years, no tickets or claims, full coverage = $901

I would suspect that if you received that much of a rate increase on your bike there has been a reclassification of the bike or you.

You specifically asked about state farm ........was my answer correct for statefarm or not? Feel free to back to that other country anytime.

Ps. I just got TD insurance for my bike this week.......they specifically looked at all my car infractions which raised my rate. I'm sure as an insurance company I would be interested in those kids you killed with your car In an at fault accident hypothetically speaking......wouldn't you?

The other problem was, this December, I got into my first accident because some ***** ran a red light and slammed into me. Because the police officer couldn't prove who ran the red, and we had no witnesses, we were deemed 50/50 at fault. TD said this does not affect my insurance (because I was driving a car), but what about StateFarm? I heard they base your motorcycle insurance off your car insurance?

statefarm specific right?

Just got my 2005 Yamaha FZ6 renewal notice. My premium last year was $696 while the new renewal premium quoted is $1,025. In my books that's about 50% increase!

I immediately called and spoke to an agent. He put me on hold "to do some research for me", and then said that "there were too many claims for that kind of bike". I'm fed up with this BS! I've got my car and my house insurance with them too, and I'm seriously thinking about switching. Nothing in my driving record has changed, I don't deserve the premium increase!

Posted this on another thread, but thought it would work here too......

My renewal came up for my 2008 BMW F800S

Echelon wanted $703.

A quick call to TD, and they quoted me $417. When I told him about my 3 minor tickets over 3 years (and he took my D/L number to verify), it went up to $545.

TD has extra coverage on their policy that Echelon didn't which was nice.

Then added Collision, which I didnt have with Echelon, and final total is $592.

Still a fantastic deal! Bye bye Echelon!

Please note : we also have our Home and 1 auto with TD, so Im sure we got a bundled discount.

Just did an online quote with TD... 302% of what I'm paying to Jevco.
41, riding 3 years, 1 minor car infraction, no collisions, liability only, Buell 1125r -- $1300 Jevco, $3926 TD.

You should call them and ask for a rate. When I did the TD calculator for my motorcycle, it was double on the online quote, then what they quoted me in real life.

.

I think it'll take a year on sitting on your m1 for insurance to drop.
I'm 19, GM2 (M2 for year and a half), 09 ninja 250
and i pay 1300 a year with TD

For convictions, it doesn't matter whether you were driving your car or riding your bike -- it believe will affect both your Auto and Bike policy with pretty much any company.

At-fault claims are a different matter. Depending on the company, some may track a separate driving record (i.e. number of years at-fault claims free) for your auto and bike, while others may combine them in to a single driving record. I know that State Farm combines them, such that a claim with either your bike or your car will affect both your bike and auto policy. It sounds like the OP is saying that TD tracks separate driving records for you auto and your bike, such that a claim on one policy will not affect the other.
