I don't inherently see the problem with skateboards sharing the road with cars and bicyclists. Many longboarders use it as a legit way to commute, and as long as they're respecting the rules of the road, I'm cool with it.
But it's all a moot point if this cabbie *intentionally* hit this skateboarder. Short of the skateboarder pulling a gun and the cabbie acting in self-defense, I'm not sure how it can be justified.

it was not me who said that, it was another poster, did you hit your head too like this longboarder? btw the longboarder was dumb, solely because he did not wear a helmet. he could've wiped out by himself, crack his head open and die. then everyone would say he was dumb for not wearing helmet.
also it's only alleged that the cabbie intentionally ran him over.
but with people who dont pay attention making left turns killing bikers. there's no excuse for it. if a pilot don't pay attention and crash his plane into a mountain, if he somehow lives and everyone else dies, surely he'd be charged with a crime, and lose his licence for life.
but for drivers, they get a slap on the wrist.

the difference between a left turner and the cabbie is intent, left turners don't aim for bikers... this cabbie appears to have aimed for the boarder.

i kinda agree with you on the account that on Saturday this idiot on a skateboard was doing stunt on the island between two roads (near Spadina/Queen st). He fell pretty good but he was lucky that it was a red light. Who stunts right in the middle of a road.

It's interesting that you feel like you're the ultimate authority on what's constitutes "dumb". There are many non-riders out there who believe that riding a motorcycle at ALL is dumb, and that any accident is a result of our ultimate stupidity for getting on two wheels.
