Stupidly overpriced motorcycle for sale thread

So $2500 for a bucket of rust. In the close up pic looks like a mouse nest coming out around the carbs.

“THIS is from an old bike collector , the bike has been in a garage for 25yrs or more the bike is complete no ownership it is misplaced , I am selling this bike for him he is not well and very old.. these are collector bike now and very hot in demand $2500.00”

Another gold and diamond encrusted fz6 I guess. So an 04 fz6 tuned to 130hp?
49000km and it's worth 2500.

Wonder if he took it in as a trade on something else, and has to "make his money back" If he deals mainly in cars likely figures a new rim, May not, (if he hasn't been around bikes), know the extent of the damage.

Well I tried....but he won't take $500

he flat out said NO thanks...LOL

My girlfriend owned one. It was a great looking bike, fun little runabout but ****** Chinese reliability. Not sure what if any value the trike kit adds but that's almost 3 times what she sold hers for with about the same km's. If you look closely the left rear tire sticks out quite a bit more than the other side...

Good god, that thing is a train wreck. Not only is the axle not even centered, but neither is the beer box. It’s looks like it was slapped together with whatever they pulled out of a scrap heap somewhere.

And no fenders = instant certification failure, aside from whatever other issues may not be evident in the photos.

$6000 or best offer. LOL. .

I didn't even think about the fenders...but you can get them added I would think, the ad does say he can add cup holders or anything else you might want...

That may also win for the dodgiest vehicle posted in this thread. In addition to the other things people have pointed out, it needs marker lights outside of the wheels. It's also damned narrow for a trike. It would try to throw the rider off in every corner.

I wonder how you get insurance on that monstrosity.

Oh, I'm guessing the guy who currently owns it has conveniently forgotten to tell his insurance company he's heavily modified it.

This guys crazy! Run of the mill Virago, nice shape but that price!

It's a "Virago Special" though.

That must be where the extra $3500 over it's actual value comes into play.

You're being generous. You'd really have to want a virago to pay $3000 for a 1999.
Although to be fair it is very low mileage and clean, might be worth it to somebody...

yeah that's nuts
for a bike that style can get a Sportster a few years newer for the same money
sure it's in very nice condition, but I'd by a 1200L over a Virago anyday

Oh, in another few weeks when spring fever hits, you never know.

But in October, yeah, that's a $1500-$2000 bike.

I like the bigger v-stars, specifically the 1100 classic and would love to add one to the "collection", so I'm always looking at them. This one is a 1300 but am kinda surprised at the price, nearly double the next most expensive one in Ontario that I see. Is it overpriced or am I not seeing the value?

Yamaha stopped making them in 2017, but you can still get a new one from dealers. MSRP is $14,999 plus your standard Freight, PDI and taxes.
Basically the seller of this one is only willing to lose money on fees and taxes and thinks the bike is still worth a new one.
