Stupidly overpriced motorcycle for sale thread

^ seller is selling the bike because he has two other bikes and he's only ridden it once and would like to see someone else using it and he's going back to school to learn about punctuation and sentence structure

They've removed all turn signals, mirrors, and swing arm mounted the plate. That makes a statement of a sort
All of that to look cool while they put 125km on it. In its entire life, that bike only travelled from Niagara to Toronto. Sad.

That batwing with the gps on the Vstar is pretty sweet, though.

What's that about the km's being off by 30% because of the gearing?
Your speedo is setup to run with a certain diameter of tire/rim and front and rear sprockets. When you change any of these factors it will make you speedo read faster or slower than actual speed, which also throws off the odometer reading.

Oh ok, got it thanks.

I edited my post, he actually shows one screenshot where it says "finally back together". Curious what that means or if he even realizes that he showed that info...probably will tell you never dropped when you speak with him about the price.

"Finally back together"
"Also, Km’s are off by 30% because of the gearing"

Reading between the lines: Used to was a stunt bike.

This one has been posted for a while, not sure if it's already been mentioned here. I'm pretty sure I saw this exact bike at the St. Louis bike meet in Bolton last summer, the owner was talking it up big time. It's a nice clean bike if it's the same one, but is it worth 10k?

Not sure if this belongs here or the reasonably priced thread, but to me it seems expensive. He claims one sold recently for 27k USD but I wouldn't think it had 50km on it like this one.

Having said that, this is "the one" for me..this Gen of zx7 just pulls at me especially in this colour combo, I rode a standard zx7 back in the day and I have a soft spot for it. Nostalgia and all that...

completely agree with your analysis
the auction bike must have been low miles to get 27K

if this bike tugs at your heartstrings
to you, it may be worth 12K
if you plan to keep it forever

if for whatever reason down the road you want/need to sell it
I'd expect to take a big loss on it

I'd try a low offer, see what happens
but it doesn't sound like a desperate seller

You might have misunderstood me. Yes it pulls at my heartstrings, but only because it looks like the bike I rode in my youth and I would love to have one again, if only for nostalgic reasons. I have no intention to put an offer on it.

I'm not in a position to have a garage queen at this point, which is what it would be. Honestly I wouldn't even ride it often, only to bring to meets to show off what to me is a beautiful classic.

I agree, it's a lot of money for what it is. The K series is worth something to someone I guess but for me I would be happy to have a standard one just for the look and pay a lot less, especially considering it would probably see only a few hundred km a year in my care.

1987 VT1100 Shadow or only $800. Only needs New frame, forks, triples, fender, gas tank .... and lists it at 220 K on it.

you need to read the ad.
