MSRP $5,299, so he wants a little over what he might have paid for it?

Can't afford the insurance, but you were able to buy it straight out? :/

Should have made an account here, everyone would have told you to get a price for insurance first

How can someone not afford 300 insurance?? He must've had a crap record.

Could be really young kid or not have any type of driving record. Not everyone gets their license the moment they turn 16.
They could have also been so focused on saving up for the bike, they forgot that you need money for gas, insurance, helmet, etc.

The best rate I could find for my 250 last year was $3200, everywhere else wanted $4000+

Did I mention I have a spotless record?

You made my jaw drop for the day. I'd have a heart attack with insurance like that

It's bikes like this that always got me. Msrp new is 16,500. 2 years old and 10,000 kms later it's still worth 14,500? Extras or not I'd rather spend the 2k and get one that's never been touched but maybe I'm the minority there. May be one of those "look honey, I listed it for sale" ads.

People like to price it based on what they actually paid .. HST, PDI, and other dealer fees and stuff. Also, they might want to recoup something for their effort of bringing the bike on the road and 'breaking it in', etc. thinking those things add some values for some reason.

Anyway, at the end of the day, they may just want to test the market for 'stupid' people who does not compare prices or maybe they just happen to incorporate their sentimental values along with the price. I good liner I see often.... "this is my baby and I am sad to see it go..."

With who? Do you have a G?

I'm with TD MM and the only reason it was $3200 was because it was on a policy with other things that helped discount the price... John duffy wanted $4200 my first season.

Now my second season's premium is still over $2000, and yes I have a full G.

If I wanted to be primary driver on a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder it would be $6500/year, and even more with a 2001 Honda Civic.

The insurance threads are laughable when I see old people who probably have 6 figure salaries complaining that they have to pay like $1700/year for an S1000RR
