Stupidly overpriced motorcycle for sale thread

OK, I couldn't resist messaging the guy about the Norton & asking nicely if the price was a mistake.

Indeed it is an error, asking price is $8499.

Or for an extra 2k I can get a new Triumph Thruxton :love4:
With all the classic stuff but with EFI, Brembos, Ohlins.

Yes pls.

I think from the pictures that could be a dealer. If its running well, numbers match and all the parts are there, $8500 is in line. Clubman bars are a $100 problem. The carbs have often been switched (mikuni tuneup) , nobody cares about the electronic ignition swap. If it was built as a 'high rise' which was big in the north american market, its still a norton but collectors don't like that.

That price is right in the ballpark. The High Rider was a "factory custom" attempt at a chopper look but was never very popular. The bike advertised is a Roadster.

10k is not far off the mark if thats cdn dollars.

the low kms and the stock forks included are a plus, as is the factory paint. the odometer reading may be suspect.

this is a rare and sought after model. if the bike is as mint as it appears, it could be sold internationally for more than 10k US dollars. condition is everything. the cbr front forks installed... lowers its value.

$5500 for a $1500 bike that's been badly molested... keep dreaming.

Some hipster will buy it to ride 50K a year to and from Starbucks.

Price is whack but the bike looks good IMO.
I'm with you.
I don’t think it looks that bad.
Curious, how is a gen 1 when the Ninja 250 has been around since, what, '89?

That is the nicest custom EX-250F I've ever seen. For $5500, I could still buy a nice SOHC CB750K or something. I don't want to slam someone for doing something different and/or customizing a bike they clearly liked, but clearly they're never going to get their time & money back out of that bike

Kawasaki made the EX-250F unchanged continuously from 88-07. While we did get the EX-250H as the ZZR-250 from 2000-2002, I *think* when it was discontinued we got the old EX-250F again (the US never got the ZZR-250). Technically it's not a gen 1, as it is a revision of the EX-250E. And the "new" 250R in 2008 still used a revised version of the motor from the EX-250F.

This is pretty much the same thing they did with the Ninja 500, KLR 650, Concours, Vulcan 500, etc
