Hi. I am sorry for your loss. As for insurance, I do not think it is a big mistake to have it not covered. My policy with insurance companies is to pay them as little as possible and never ask money from them. And this did not come from thing air, it is totally based on my and my friend's experience. I always pay from my pocket from year 2000 on, because you can take from them only once without them taking from you everything and more back. Lets admit it guys, insurance in Toronto is just a kind of legalized robbery. So, sit happens and you just paid for it and it is good that you did not have it covered. If your insurance would pay, it would be just like a mortgage and you would finish up paying even more anyway, just postponed and stretched in time. So, start saving for a new bike and always check few times if keys are with you, when you leave it. Just try to think about the whole thing as an expensive but important lesson almost everyone did or will get some time(s) in their live. As for the thief, I would not envy him. Imaging you have stolen a horse that you know you have to kill shortly and you like horses. On the other hand, if he does not like them, this should be even a more miserable existence, wouldn't you agree? See you riding even a better bike in future.
