I guess the community is us. Anyone that would stop and listen. But we also have a "stolen bike" thread on this board, and guess what? No amount of positive energy from this community has ever returned a stolen bike. A jacket? Please, please...

You are doing the right thing, but don't go investing too much effort into this. Sadly, the jacket is gone, for next time remeber than an ounce of prevention is worth 1,000 pounds of cure...

and your girl just tossed a brand new $700 jacket into a pile of jackets… then went on her merry way without keeping an eye on it? Really?
I think it's a good life lesson for her… i mean looking on the plus side. sucks the jacket is gone, but you're both hopefully smarter for it now.
and the pencil comment. LOL happened to me 2 times. still think about those mechanical pencils that were stolen. all the same one too, i'd bought 5 of em and 2 were stolen. still have 1 left lol and still think about the 2 that were stolen.
also in grade 9 had bought brand new nike tennis shoes, put in my locker, worn once, and my locker got broken into and shoes stolen. sucks when it happens. but it happens. and I'm smarter for it.

Wow...those jackets are over $600!? I don't think I'd ever spend that type of cash for a piece of clothing...suit maybe...but not one piece. I thought the Canada Goose jackets were priced nuts.

With that said, though, it sounds like you're living beyond your means. If you lived within your means, losing a $X jacket wouldn't be a big deal, and you'd just get another one.
