Good things can come from tragedies. One word: Amber Alert.

If you're up to it, and your girlfriend allows it, maybe you could start a campaign of awareness. Do you know how some woman go for rides because they're against rape or something? You could do that for stolen jackets. Petition the government, get signatures, sell hamburgers, whatever it takes to get a Blue Alert for these time sensitive coat crimes.
