Stolen bikes

You think the police check every vehicle for plates and car matching? only if they stop you, or suspect something.

Not only if "they" stop you or suspect. "They" happen to run plates randomly when driving. At red lights is easier, it's like texting and driving but no ticket.. ;)

At least 20-50 plates a day if "they" are bored.

Just run em over with a car. Failure to stop / improper left turn will be result and you can probably plead it down to a non moving violation ;)

Give this man a law degree!

I wonder why the insurance on white vans isn't sky high if they're the (stolen) vehicle of choice for thieves.

Once the cops finally get their shipment of tasers to bully the public with, maybe there will be enough budget to implement that automated plate scanner they've been testing.

I'd be worried about privacy, but that's been sold down the river for a handful of beans (if it's not left lying around on a USB key in the subway).

More than half the bikes I get for storage are from undergrounds. Always hearing that residents dont trust the security.

I just saw the new Toronto parking enforcement car with automated plate scanners on the roof a couple of days ago, so maybe it is being implemented.

If you want privacy, don't use public roads.
The only people who have to worry are those RobFording late at night for dope.

The guys they caught downtown with the bomb a few days ago were the result of a traffic stop because the plate was on the wrong vehicle. I don't know how the cops got into the trunk (probable cause or permission) but either way the guys are Idiots.

Correction, if you want privacy, steal a white van and don't speed. Tons of cargo space and free motorcycles. Then, if you hurt your back, get a prescription for dope.

Every related tv show has told us that shady things happen in black SUV's with heavy tint.

No one ever notices the white cargo van.

Buddy's Escalade just got jacked at Sq.1 yesterday...on a Sunday for ****s sake, probably one of the busiest days especially with the holiday shoppers.

Kill a thief?
Wait till the bleeding hearts profess how good of a kid he was & all he needed was college money

Buddies bike got lifted last month in a condo parking lot. Burgandy windstar and all on camera, homeboy's mug is clearly visible too. Let's see if the cops can do anything about it. They did it during the high traffic time and not like in the middle of the night like one would expect.

Best time to steal a bike or anything bigger is doing the day when traffic is higher. No one thinks... "hey he is stealing that bike" at that time. more people would report it if they saw it happening at 4 am..lol Only idiots steal something that isn't easily concealed late at night. If you steal a car and go on a joy ride at 4 pm your a LOT e4lss likely to get caught, cops have much more to look at at 4 pm then 4 am.

As for the guys face being on camera unless the cops know him from previous dealings or someone viewing the tape knows him the video is really of no use. Can't get a name from a video. Not like the media is going to put the video on 6 pm news.

Yea we inferred the same, but the chances are he might have priors in the system. If not the odds are he will one day; anything is better than nothing. I'm just surprised that it took a good 3 years before they lifted it.

Post it in this thread or your signature. Call it bike thief, lol

I love how so many people say he's such a great guy just after they killed someone ...

Would love to talk to those bleeding hearts after their car or bike gets stolen.... see if they still think "he's such a great guy".

This country is far to easy on criminals.... not just thieves, but criminals in general.

If you can. Post homeboys pic here. Someone might know him. May make others think twice as well.

My bike was stolen from my condo when i was away, my suspicion tells me it was an inside job. As only concierge knew I was away for one week and must have received a finders fee.

The white van would frequently scout my parking spot, and eventually pulled the trigger in the wee hours of the night.
