I guess you and I drive the 407 at different times, its a nice editorial statement that one of yours but the fact is that because people are driving faster, they are paying more attention, that is a fact from my observation and ... logic.Your logic is flawed when it comes to the 407.
I see people driving "distracted" all the time on the ETR. On top of that, it is no different than the 401 when it comes to this.
When it comes to accidents on the 407 they are quite serious or fatal in most cases due to the increased speeds. The reason for less traffic or congestion is because its a "tolled" highway.
Sorry but sending an "email" isnt going to change any speed limits anytime soon.
I remember saying this
but I guess you also haven't noticed thatI know you will say that there is a lot less traffic on the 407, however funny enough is the only time i see any traffic is when someone decides to drive the speed limit on the fast lane or even on the far left middle lane.
I would like to see the accident statistics on the 407 compared to the 401, yea the one accident once in a while may be more dangerous but WTF does that have to do with ridiculously low speed limit of 100 km/h on this HWY
By the way, let's organize the traffic you see on this pic, let's move everyone traveling less than 120 to the first 3 right lanes and leave space for anyone traveling above 120 on the left lane, voila, we have consistent traffic flow and no danger to anyone.
Now add a couple of 100 k/h driver to the fast lane and a bunch of people changing lanes to try and drive around the posted speed limit drives and cluster **** is formed and people are in a lot more danger.
