Selling Frenzy

Ok will do. He hasn’t responded to the last 2 emails or calls.
Wha? Anthony, or Tony?

That wasn't my experience..

Tell them you're looking at the SP2 they have in stock, i bet you'll get VIP treatment :ROFLMAO:

Tony is the GM nice guy in person, kinda meh on the phone.

Anthony is the Sales Manager
Ok thanks. I'll try and call before I go. The GM hasn't responded to anything except the initial email.

mmmhmmm. i had a few good conversations with him in person....but that's where i'd end the positive review lol.

Good plan thanks @Mad Mike. I’ll try that on a few that refused to respond to my offer (obviously low ball to them).

Wonder if that strategy works with dealers also as Peninsula has a nice bike I’m interested in. Anyone got a good connection there?
I’ve had some luck revisiting sellers that turned down my initial offer. After a month or so of the toy sitting after my initial offer I’ll send my offer again politely.

Just did. Used the exact words that @Mad Mike stated. Guy told me he'll let me know tomorrow as someone is offering more to go see it.

I don't expect to get it. But worth a shot.

Insurers don't actually track motorcycle accidents by category, make and model. Nor do they track riders based on MC claims -- your age and experience discounts are based on ins company's automobile claims. Kinda dumb -- 50+ are the lowest claims group for cars, but the highest for motorcycles. Kinda silly that the group with the highest claims gets the cheapest insurance.

They classify bikes into groups arbitrarily based on category and displacement. They do track thefts by make so if you have a bike that interests thieves or is prone to comp claims (which includes all Harleys) your collision and comp will be high.
50+ YO, arthritic neck limits shoulder checks. Slower reaction times. Old bones don't heal as fast. Life altering injuries and retraining for new occupations is more difficult.

Yup, and sometimes they end up regretting not taking our offers...
SO WE MUST CRUSH THEM AND MAKE THEM RUE THE DAY THEY TURNED US DOWN.*

Two weeks ago I see a nice, finished bike for sale and make what I think is a fair and even generous offer. I get turned down. Ok suit yourself.

Two days ago I go to buy the "project" version of that same bike. It needs work in every department, but it's 1/3 the price. I go to buy it.

While I'm driving two hours to go buy the project version of the same bike, the guy from two weeks ago reaches out. It's like he knew! "Ok I'll take your offer if you're still interested."

Too late fucker!

In a perfect little world I'll finish my project, list it, and sell it, before he's able to sell his. Then I'll offer him $500 less than I initially offered because he has to learn not to be greedy lol.

Chances of this are slim to none, but a guy can dream.

* PS: I don't actually want to crush anyone, but I'm cool with them rueing a little bit. Rue, you bastard lol

In the pre craigslist days we had a monthly buy and sell paper called the Triad in Niagara and area regions. My buddy would buy it (not look at it) and set it aside for three months and then check it out and start calling the ads he was interested in. He got lots of angry WTFs but he also got a crap load of fantastic deals. Obviously does not work for something you need now, was never about items he needed...

Now he sorts FBMP and Kijiji ads oldest first.... lots of no responses (they just never took the ad down) and again many great deals people gave up selling. Not as good as the old days but still a thing...
