Yes I do have my HD with Johnson. I got an alumi group rate from my school through them.
Hmm very interesting, I guess more games in the industry just f'n over consumers.
Not really...they'll just wait for the next person who doesn't ask silly questions about insurance.
Not only that...who's to say they're not lying?
Recently went to look at a Ducati 821...I asked questions that the guy said no one else asked, and looked at things that others missed. The next day he asked me to let him know what I found with the bike as he saw it, liked it, bought it, and now selling it for whatever reason.
Unfortunately I'm quite picky, so I'm yet to have a motorcycle
Went to see an XSR700 yesterday. Guy doesn’t have insurance on it. He rode there to the plaza dirty but that’s a him problem not a me problem.
Rode it around the parking lot for me to hear the gears go up and down, which was tough when the landscaping crew was mowing the lawn at the exact same time…coincidence?!
Id actually like to know what the percentage would be of Busa owners crashing. I personally don't know anyone personally that has completely written theirs off before. I would think the Harley crowd would be a larger margin just based off of sheer numbers.

Now that I’m looking closer at FBMP and Kijiji….OP is right. A LOT of bikes are showing up with reduced pricing, and FB keeps the old price so you can compare.
Lots of bikes down $500-2000 from their previous selling price.
You are getting to the time of year when people who wanted to ride are rethinking the decision. Most of us have seen this before - I think it happened a lot more during the pandemic.
I wanna bike! Rider buys their first bike, gets M2, and rides a few thousand KM. Next season comes along, ...bike sits in the garage... heavy monthly ins and payments flying out the door... spouse starting to complain...too busy or no longer interested.

Agreed. Lots out there, but people are holding their price steady. Barely any discounts to be had from their listed price, and to me it's not worth THAT price...but that's why I don't have a bike yet.

Insurers don't actually track motorcycle accidents by category, make and model. Nor do they track riders based on MC claims -- your age and experience discounts are based on ins company's automobile claims. Kinda dumb -- 50+ are the lowest claims group for cars, but the highest for motorcycles. Kinda silly that the group with the highest claims gets the cheapest insurance.
They classify bikes into groups arbitrarily based on category and displacement. They do track thefts by make so if you have a bike that interests thieves or is prone to comp claims (which includes all Harleys) your collision and comp will be high.

There is a price relationship based on supply and demand, and another based on days on the market for unsold inventory.
Price corrections in the down direction don't happen quickly because sellers are willing to hold to get their price. At some point, sellers start cutting prices and the market price starts to correct. My guess is you will see this first with dealers inventory, then shortly after witn private sellers. As we get later into the riding season, demand drops - supply increases and prices usually fall.
The last few toys I bought at substantial discounts over the initial listing price. I leave a polite lowball offer then wait.
"Hey, I like your bike but I have a budget and my upper limit is $5000. I know you're looking for more and I hope you get your price, but keep this offer in your back pocket, Ill honor it till the end of July . Thanks."
I bought a couple of toys this year using that approach, and being patient. Paid about 1/2 the initial asking price, and what I figure was FMV for both.
I think it may work with dealers - but you need to be patient. A few years back, a fellow rider had his eye on a 1 year old Shadow, his budget was $2K under the listed price, they countered initially with $500 off. Late in the season they gave him the bike for his price, that was $2K under what they had it listed for.
I tried to pick up a bike school DT50LC from Cycle World last year. It was listed at $2K, I offered FMV $1200. They said no and held for months before selling it. I'm guessing they got more than my offer, so it failed me that time..
