What I was implying with my original post is you guys are riding way over the speed limit and doing what the cops would consider stunting................................. I raced and have a win at mosport so I won't have any problems riding with you. What I will have an issue with is losing my license. So why not just come out and admit the ride is about going as fast as you can, screw the laws. At least people will come out knowing the real deal and not get nailed before they can decide to opt out half way thru.
I trimmed that a bit.....
You originally implied that 2 people crashed their bikes due to riding aggressively. You were wrong and I said so, "Bandit made a wide left turn at a light and rode along the curb and tipped over" and there was no 2nd crash.
It doesn't seem that the issue here is with "you losing your license" but rather more about the fact that you're speculating about rides you have no first hand experience with and you're repeating "hear-say" which is basically next to gossiping. Even with positive comments about the fun that riders had when they ACTUALLY rode with me, you are still judging the whole group that is more than happy with the way they ride on my rides! hahahahaha! No rider complaints about being pressured, a couple will admit to leaving rides for different reasons and I thank them for their honesty.
As for your win at Mosport, congrats! As for me having crew chiefed a Superbike Team at Daytona (96) and being the tuner for the present class champion in the SOAR PRO senior superbike class and being an ex-licensed Road Racer in the RACE series (95), having owned a motorcycle shop for years in Niagara (whose riders took several dirt and roadrace championsips) I think I have a bit of an idea about what going fast is all about! hahaha!......but going "as fast as I can" on the street is not what I am out there doing. If I had been doing that for almost 30 years, back in the 80's on my 900 ninjas, for 10 years in the 90's on punched out GSXR 1100's, during the 70 000 kms I put on my 99 R1 in 5 years and for the last 5 years putting on 70 000 kms on my poor poor GSXR 1000 I would surely have been DEAD by now, hahahahaha!
I obviously ride within my limits. If I didn't I wouldn't last long, I'm sure you'd agree. I ride at a pace that it seems is different from most others and that's where I get my kicks. Other riders ride at the pace where they get their kicks. I don't see a problem and THEY certainly don't either, judging by their comments. This is what I endorse "ride within your limits, leave if you're not comfortable, be at work on monday morning" it would be great if all rides had this mantra.
I've street ridden with a few champions and a number of national top 5 guys (still). They don't go 110%, they do have their moments though!...trust me, they're not exactly always "saints" hahahaha! I can hold my own at any pace on the street because it's not about going 100%, if it were about going 100% we'd all be dead long ago. The point is that they get their kicks and they ride within their limits........................just like the rest of us SEEM to be doing as we're all coming home in 1 piece and HAPPY! There's a time and place for everything, if you use good judgement you'll be out here for a long time, not just a good time, having fun about 30 years later, like me. This is what I think bikes are about, not boredom and someone else saying I should do this or this. For me motorcycling is about everything that's opposite to that. Like I said before, if it were up to me, some bikes wouldn't exist because I don't see any merrit in them, no reason to own one and I know not everyone agreess with that.........so everyone does as they like.
So if there's something wrong with that keep trying to get your point across, because thus far you're saying a few different things that still sound like you're judging us without listening to what other riders from my rides are saying. Your speculations are similar to gossip because there have been no crash fests or cop fests. My point is that everyone is expected to ride within their limits and have fun and that seems to be working, even for me. Let me know if you are going to make a point about something thats going to help our rides, especially if it's contrary to what the past participants feel as I am sure they'd like to have it explained to them too. Be sure not to mis-quoting yourself because it complicates the original point you made.
